Fear and Anxiety Drive Conservatives' Political Attitudes

Empirical evidence suggests that conservatives and liberals don’t just have different outlooks and opinions—they also have different brains. This means that our choice of political affiliation and overall worldview may not really be all that much of a choice. Still, we must work to understand these psychological and biological distinctions so that we can ultimately use this knowledge to work together and find middle ground. Such information may also make us less vulnerable to those who want to exploit these dispositions for their own selfish agendas by using tactics like fear-mongering.

  1. Sometimes there is something to fear. The Obama biden admins have funded Iran and allowed it to spread terror.
Trump has now got Sebastian gorka as anti terrorism advisor.
It's like having a Bibi in the administration.
    We should be rejoicing

    1. All that means is that DT and his friends are spending every spare second scouring the internet for anything that suggeest Gorka did some sexual crime at some point somewhere some time.

  2. I'll go with Churchill: If a man isn't a socialist when he's 20, question his heart. If he's still a socialist at 30, question his head.
Or you can ask Thomas Sowell about how fixed brains are when it comes to political ideologies.
The bottom line is that the conservative outlook is an adult outlook. It sees the risks out there and spends time worrying about how to handle them. The liberal outlook is that someone else will take care of the mess so who cares?

    1. When Yona Metzger was running for the rabbanut, Vs R Yaakov Ariel (Ariel is a Gaon with some association with Rav Goren, Metzger an am haaretz with history of fraud and sex abuse).
The rumours were around Metzger. Rav Eliashiv said that even if the rumours are true, he's still better than the RZ candidate.
(Difficult to justify if you study hilchot Sanhedrin)
