“Every Republican in Washington has an opinion about Matt Gaetz, and 99% of those opinions are, ‘Keep Matt Gaetz away from my wife/daughter/friend and anyone I care about,’” he wrote.
“Here’s the real deal: Matt Gaetz is the line for how we assess the Republican Party. If they are truly a cult of personality, beholden to Donald Trump in ways that we could not even imagine for a party that rejects cults and idol worship, they will approve this choice,” Domenech wrote.
He should not hold office. It's a joke.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm such a great prognosticator, but here's my guess - Gaetz isn't Trump's actual pick for AG. He has someone else, someone that would probably arouse controversy for his right wing legal views. So Gaetz is the sacrificial lamb. Trump will promote him. The left wing will scream and froth at the mouth and in the last minute, Gaetz will "voluntarily" step down and the real candidate will be put in his place. Everyone will be tired from the fighting and just wave him through.
