It's not science that is the danger to religion. It's scientism and religious fundamentalism that are the dangers. When I learned genetics in undergrad, I was astounded with the detail that God used to make life work. Incredible. The danger is the scientist who says "Now that we can explain everything, it means we don't need God" and the fundamentalist who says "Science? Feh! Adam HaRishon rode a dinosaur in Gan Eden and everyone knows it"
