can anyone provide a mechanism for the process in which Midrash /Aggadah was produced by Chazal, e.g. in interpreting Scripture. I see a few possibilities:
1) They were simply in receipt of all midrash from Sinai and passed it down. 2) they had rules of how to learn and make drush 3) they had divine inspiration guding them on their itnrpretation
4) - this is a historical approach so be warned - they had knowledge, experience and great minds, and this contributed to hwo they interpreted verse or stories from the TNach.
