Attempting
to deflect criticism for their role in legislation that will
disproportionately make it harder for Black Americans to vote, Kemp and
other Republicans have suggested that the community is now paying an
economic price as a result of corporate activism on voting rights. The
Georgia governor said the nation should interpret MLB's move to mean
that "cancel culture and partisan activists are coming for your
business. They're coming for your game or event in your hometown, and
they're coming to cancel everything from sports to how you make a
living, and they will stop at nothing to silence all of us."
Or more Black people could get photo ID's which would solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteHere's the summary -
Georgia: you need a proper ID to vote
The Woke: that's racist!
Georgia: anyone needs a proper ID. Doesn't matter their skin colour!
The Woke: that's racist!
The Georgia governor is right. The current government, not satisfied with basic Twitter mobs and the cancellation of small time literary folks and the occasional celebrity has taken on a much bigger project: the cancellation of 75 million American who dared to not vote for them. This will end very badly.
Also, this is not an opening for Biden. This will actually come back to hurt him in 2022. People aren't going to think "Biden is standing up against racism!" People will think "Hey, Georgia just wants folks to show ID when they vote and Biden is cancelling them!" The vast majority of Americans, if asked if ID should be presented before voting, will say yes. Most will say it should be mandatory. And that's what they're going to see here - Georgia did something reasonable and is getting punished for it.
ReplyDeleteBut then, how can the Dem's expect to hold Georgie in 2022 if they can't bus in enough illegal immigrants to flood the polling booths?
