The liberals have already hijacked democracy and imposed their
mindset on the masses. Anything that rebalances society is for the
better. If it takes an autocratic President, so be it. At least the
autocratic President we have bends his will to that of the people who
elected him. And isn't that what democracy is all about?
Donald
Trump won the election! Get over it, already. In the past, a government
from one party could rule over both parties. But now the country is too
split. So the party out of favor feels like they have no say. Which is
true, somewhat.
When Bernie gets elected, I'll feel like that, too. So let me enjoy the presidency I brought about while I can.

That's kind of a mischaracterization by double-standard. Trump is giving freebies of his own in the way of corporate regulation rollbacks & massive government spending. And the "booming economy" is Obama's, very arguably, the benefits of which Trump's trade wars & spending are actually dampening, ironically.
ReplyDeleteI don't write the above to support any one side, but merely to point out how irretrievably rife with partisan rhetoric your "reasoning" is, and how utterly far gone from the once pashut intellectual ideals of sober assessment & dispassionate analysis.
Intellectual onanism, thy name is punditry!

I think it is a stretch to compare deregulation to free college education. The deregulation has arguably led to people and companies generating wealth and paying taxes on that wealth. Free college is most likely going to be a case of government spending tax money.
Massive government spending is not a freebie. The people who get the money must give something to the government in return. And it goes on under both Republican and Democrat administrations.

It's always hard to gauge just how much effect a President's policies have on the economy, and at what point those effects kick in. "Trump's booming economy" is meant in the sense of many voters not wanting to switch Presidents when the economy is good.

I'm not sure what is partisan about wanting to mute the liberal push for abortion and promoting LGBT+ everywhere: in schools, libraries, the banking industry, you name it. It's a Torah imperative in my estimation to keep the Democrats away from power.

Pretty disgusting metaphor, but ok.
