I just received the following email
Attached please see the Chidushei Harim in this weeks parsha asks and answers a very fundamental question. What was the sin of klal yisroel with the Meraglim that they deserved to die in the Midbar? Afterall the Meraglim were the "Gedolei Yisroel" The Einei Hoeda and therefore were justified to listen to them as they were the leaders of klal yisroel? His answer is paramount and fundamental to all of us. We must remember that even our leaders, when they speak against a simple and obvious Torah law, we must not obey them but treat them as neviei Hasheker. After hashem proclaimed Eretz Yisroel as a superb land, they had no business speaking against the land and its like speaking against the Torah!! Klal Yisoel had no business believing them or listening to them!!! The last part of the CHIDUSHEI HARIM is even more frightening as he states that "In the end of the days" we "will have similar Nisyonos, meaning that our leaders will also say things against the Torah and we will be tested if we remain silent and agree with them, or do we protest. We must diffrentiate between the phony rabbis and the ones that speak the truth!!!
solution - follow the ones who have Daas Torah :)
ReplyDeleteQ: How do we know who has real Daas Torah?
A: Follow what the ones who have Daas Torah tell you.
You have to know the truth of the TORAH before you can protest against the phoney rabbis. Knowledge has to be gained somehow. So essentially people follow their own version of s Rav and of truth. Was Rav Kook telling the truth or the satmar rebbe? The answer depends largely on whom you follow in the first place.
ReplyDelete“We must differentiate between the phony rabbis and the ones that speak the truth!!!”
ReplyDeleteWe must learn from teachers of the Torah of Moses to follow God’s Torah.
I quote:
“Thus the Lord delivered Israel that day from the Egyptians. Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea. And when Israel saw the wondrous power which the Lord had wielded against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord; they had faith in the Lord and His servant Moses” (Exodus 14:30-31).
“He issued His commands to Jacob, His statutes and rules to Israel. He did not do so for any other nation; of such rules they know nothing. Hallelujah” (Psalms 147:19-20).
Moses, at times, faced the opposite of: “the people feared the Lord; they had faith in the Lord and His servant Moses” When? “and in the morning you shall behold the Presence [others, glory] כבוד of the Lord, because He has heard your grumblings תלנתיכם against the Lord. For who are we that you should grumble תלינו against us?” (Exodus 16:7).
Hertz Chumash: “and in the morning. They would have the bread from heaven. See the glory of the Lord. Manifested by the wonderful gift of the manna (Rashi, Luzzatto). murmurings against the Lord, Really against Moses and Aaron, but they were merely the servants of God.”
“They combined against Moses and Aaron and said to them, You have gone too far! For all the community are holy, all of them, and the Lord is in their midst. Why then do you raise yourselves above the Lord’s congregation?” (Numbers 16:3).
Hertz Chumash: “all the congregation are holy. With the instinct of the true demagogue, Korah posed as the champion of the People against the alleged dictatorship of Moses and Aron, the two brothers who usurped all power and authority in Israel.”
Definition of demagogue 1 : a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power 2 : a leader championing the cause of the common people in ancient times
Hertz Chumash on Korach p.638: “The Great Mutiny In the last Sedrah we had seen the people threatening to appoint a chieftain who was to take them back to Egypt. It was ominous of further serious revolt...The Korah undertook to show that the laws instituted by Moses were hard beyond endurance...In brief, Korah was a demagogue and recoiled from no weapon that would discredit Moses.” P. 641: “Nothing could now have prevented the complete disintegration of the People save the destruction of the instigators of the sedition. That destruction, moreover, had to be in so striking a way that it would clearly reveal the Divine purpose. 25. The elders of Israel. Ibn Ezra suggests that these were the 70 elders who according to [Numbers] xi, 16, 17, were to assist Moses in bearing the burden of the people. These remain loyal during the upheaval.”
This is what one of my teachers, Rabbi Cardozo has written on the subject:

How Prophetic!
ReplyDeleteBecause of our many sins we were Sent from our land!
How we must remember this truth and not fall for false Rabbis and false messiahs !

ReplyDeleteJoke - what you just bring leads to the opposite conclusion of what you got. The 10 meraglim were the ones who opposed Tzion. the minority were Yoshua , and Rav Kook who brought back the good reports.
ReplyDeleteJoke ? its sad not a Joke?!

ReplyDeleteYour ideas are a sad joke, not funny. You are one of the meraglim, and on a daily basis you post meraglim videos

“The real deception, however, was the fantastical narrative of victory concocted by Germany’s military leaders. Even after the terrible losses during their failed spring offensive in 1918, even after American troops began pouring into France at the rate of 200,000 a month, the German people believed that their army was invincible—and undefeated in the field. So why did they capitulate at Versailles? The German nation, its leaders claimed, had been “stabbed in the back” by socialists, Jews and other enemies of the Reich.”
Wow The Versailles Treaty Gets a Bum Rap. Why? Because The Great War’s horrors, spiritual emptiness and a pack of lies made another world war inevitable. A fantastical narrative is at the root.
Sounds like Korach and his band rising up against Moses with a fantastical narrative. Hertz Chumash p. 638: “Then Korah undertook to show that the laws instituted by Moses were hard beyond endurance.” Korah was rich and generous---a demagogue with lies that were a fantastic narrative. So important to fight against lies that are a fantastic narrative. I love Trump and Netanyahu. Trump and Netanyahu fight against lies that are fantastic narrative. So should we.
Part of the metaglim problem,is that you are convinced you are right
