What do you want from marriage - what does your spouse want and expect?
I am finishing my Daas TORAH Volume about marriage and sexuality
As Rav Lichtenstein has pointed out there is no unique picture of marriage found in Chazal
I am interested in hearing what you think is the ideal and whether your spouse shares this view
It is clear from the letters of the Chazon Ish, Steipler and Rav Wolbe - that expectations are often wrong and are a major contributor to shalom bayis issues

A family unit is a business. Both partners are contributors to the success of that business. It is their interest for the business to run smoothly and therefore ensuring that the other partner is satisfied and happily productive is a necessary priority.
ReplyDeleteThus for the man, the focus is on ensuring the wife's happiness and satisfaction. And the same for the wife: the focus is on ensuring her happiness and satisfaction.

What is the mission of this new book? Is it another compendium of sources, or more than that?

ReplyDeleteKelipos lefi chabad-
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sichos-in-english.org/books/letters-rebbe-1/53.htm
Seems false . Some goyim are rashaim, but some are tzadikim. Same with Jews. Many non- Jews gave up their lives to save innocent people, especially in ww2.
The Torah is not against the nations, only against idolatry.
The notion of kelipos is a chassidic or mystical one, not rational. WHAT good is there in crack cocaine for example?
What's more, if Torah learning is the real protection for the State, then it should provide protection from the draft as well. Instead of protesting, they should just be learning harder.
ReplyDeleteNo no, all miraculous claims are for verbal usage only. Nothing is practical or verifiable.
ReplyDeleteRabbi b. Blech says Herzl misunderstood antisemitism. http://www.aish.com/jw/s/Herzls-Mistake.html?mobile=yes
ReplyDeleteMaybe so. Nevertheless, he still "understood" it better than anyone else, including most of the major rabbinic figures of his day . Look at Europe today, then compare to Israel, lehavdil.
looking forward
