Trump: I have a personal connection to Judaism

arutz 7

President Donald Trump spoke with Jewish leaders in a conference call Thursday, ahead of the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays.
During the call, the president highlighted his accomplishments over the past year, including upholding his promise to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the deportation of Nazi war criminal Jakiw Palij, withdrawing the US from the United Nations Human Rights Council – citing its anti-Israel bias – and pulling out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
Trump also noted his administration’s decision to withhold funds earmarked for the Palestinian Authority until PA chief Mahmoud Abbas agrees to renew negotiations with Israel.
"I said to some of the past negotiators," Trump said. "'Did you ever do that before? Did you ever use the money angle?' They said, 'No, sir. We thought it would be disrespectful.' I said, 'I don't think it's disrespectful at all. I think it's disrespectful when people don't come to the table.'"
"Each and every one of these is something that his predecessors could have done, but did not. And so we owe him our repeated thanks. We were privileged to receive the President's wishes for a blessed New Year,” said Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, one of the organizations invited to participate in the conference call.
Known as the “High Holy Day Conference Call”, the tradition started in the Obama administration, and continued on with his successor.
Last year, Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist leaders refused to help organize the conference call, protesting the president’s response to the violence in Charlottesville.
Despite the boycott, President Trump held the conference call, including Orthodox leaders.
A spokesperson from the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center told the Religion News Service this week that it would boycott this year’s conference call as well.

UK chief rabbi guides Orthodox schools on supporting LGBT students

Britain’s chief rabbi has published a guidebook for Orthodox Jewish schools to help them provide support for LGBT students in the Jewish community.
The guide by Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis calls for a zero-tolerance approach to homophobic or transphobic bullying, despite a biblical prohibition against homosexual acts.

Chief Rabbi publishes first LGBT guide for orthodox schools

The UK's Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, has published the first ever guide for orthodox Jewish schools to improve the wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pupils.
A spokesman for the Chief Rabbi told the BBC that the guide is viewed as a "game-changer".
Jewish LGBT campaign group, KeshetUK, which helped produce the guide, said it was deeply grateful for the support.
The guide aims to reduce potential harm to LGBT pupils across the community.
Rabbi Mirvis says the document is "an extremely significant milestone" which would have a real and lasting impact.
"Our children need to know that at school, at home and in the community, they will be loved and protected regardless of their sexuality or gender identity," he said in his introduction.
He said orthodox schools had found it difficult to engage with LGBT issues: "So there is an urgent need for authoritative guidance which recognises the reality that there are young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students in our schools to whom we have a duty of care.
"While many such students are thriving in Jewish schools, there are many others who endure deep unhappiness and distress due to the mistreatment and hurt they experience."

‘It made me want to cry’: Ramaz school reacts to report on sexual abuse

timesofisrae

That changed last week after Ramaz released an independent report detailing a history of sexual misconduct by former teachers at the school, as well as instances when the school administration did not act on reports of teachers’ inappropriate behavior either at Ramaz or elsewhere. The report focused on misconduct by three teachers — including Goetz, who was fired following an investigation in 2005.

The ex-aides of a messianic, sex-convict rabbi fight from within to cast him out

timesofThis is the story of a venerated rabbi who is also a convicted sex offender, of the courageous ex-aides and former students who exposed his crimes at tremendous personal cost, and of the small sector of his ultra-Orthodox community that eventually recognized his guilt and shunned him. It is also the story of the wider community that still won’t openly condemn him, and of victims who’ve escaped his clutches and those who’ve stayed loyal. It is the story of Rabbi Eliezer Berland, a self-styled messiah who, after a year behind bars, is today again a free man.israel.\\\

Trump cries 'treason' as senior official attacks president in anonymous NYT op-ed

foxnews

President Trump took to Twitter late Wednesday and vowed to continue "draining the swamp" after The New York Times ran an anonymous op-ed written by a senior White House official who labeled the president "petty and ineffective."
"I'm draining the Swamp, and the Swamp is trying to fight back. Don't worry, we will win!" Trump tweeted.

Donald Trump has reacted with fury to an anonymous account written by a current Trump administration official claiming an internal White House resistance is working to “frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations” until he leaves – or can be removed from – office.
The op-ed, published in the New York Times on Wednesday, represents a shocking critique of Trump and is without precedent in modern American history. The anonymous author describes Trump as amoral, “anti-trade and anti-democratic” and prone to making “half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions”.
The writer claims aides had explored the possibility of removing Trump from office via the 25th amendment, a complex constitutional mechanism to allow for the replacement of a president who is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office”, but had decided against it.
“So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until – one way or another – it’s over,” the author writes.

convicted sex offender is threatening me again

received monday september 3 2018

The reason Ie heard about your blog is because I was approached by a Rabbi in Shul asking if I was refusing a get. My wife needed to call the Rabbi confirming that that we are married and I am not refusing her a Get. Your Lashon Hora is spreading.

Because I've never met you, I don't know if I can speak to you about Lashon Hora as an Aveira that does terrible damage. I don't know how religious you are and what beliefs you have.

What I do know is that I can sue you and file personal complaints about you to the Police. I really don't like doing that, especially to someone in your condition but I need to protect myself and my family.

Please remove that garbage about me from your site.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i need some help  here as far as i j\know i have never posted any claims that yonah weinberg was refusing to give his wife a get - if anyone can find such a post i will be glad to remove it

this is the second time yonah has threatened me

the first time was when i published the fact that he is a convicted sex offender who at that time was living in har nof

i did in fact remove those posts after receiving a threatening letter from his lawyer

yonah weinberg clarified and said he was complaining about a comment made by vevel schwartz to a post regarding Rav Yakov Hororowitz  which made a comment about a get
 i have removed the comment

I see you're telling people I'm threatening you. Please do not tell people I am threatening you. Going to the Police is not a threat. You are doing damage to me and my family with your posting - financially and otherwise, and I'm asking you to stop. You are damaging me. We sent you a letter, you stopped and now you started again. I'm asking you to stop again.

Please stop.
