בתופעה שהולכת ומתפתחת בבית החולים, ניתן לראות גם אשה חרדית, שבחרה ללדת את בנה דווקא בבית החולים הפלסטיני, אחרי שלדבריה נפגעה מיחס פוגעני בבתי החולים בירושלים.
על פי הדיווח של יוסי אלי בחדשות 10, בית החולים הקטן, שבבעלות הכנסיה הצרפתית, מקבל בזרועות פתוחות גם את הפציינטים היהודים וגם את הפלסטינים שחלקם בכלל נפצעו במהלך הלחימה ברצועת עזה.
In the 19th century, when the French opened up Notre Dame (originally a hospital) and Germans similar, the yishuv rabbanim forbade going there, even if it meant no medical treatment and death, even if there was kosher food etc available. (Actually, food in a hospital is a 20th century innovation; patients had to make their own arrangements for outside food or family)
ReplyDeletewhat was the reason? At the time, there were cases of missionaries, who were taking poor Jews and orphans and converting them to Xtianity. Presumably this is why?

These hospitals were not particularly if good quality, and there were plenty of people who did go to the hospitals. Even after shaarei tzedek was opened by yekkes (the leadership was not too excited by shaarei tzedek either, except as an alternative to these hospitals.)
