Did R' Shternbuch have access to detailed Israeli Intelligence on these matters, or is he making these observations based on the same observations that we make? Does a Posek need to be briefed by intelligence before he makes a Psak on such matters?
I can see the value of discussing this before the deal was made. Now I only see the harm this can cause to the Shalits and the divisiveness among Israeli society. If anyone has anything important to weigh in with for future reference, speak to the relevant government and security officials in confidence.
I can't see the article. If I try to enlarge it (ie zoom in) it goes off the page. Is anyone able to give me a link to a clearer version of the article?
Doesn't explain why, he just says that "he ruled" that way. Okay.

ReplyDeleteRav Shternbuch is right and the people who arranged, as well as the people who support this deal are totally irrational.
