The supposed Moishele has an excuse for believing this. (He's autistic -- though I doubt he really exists and if he does, doubt he ever said this.) But, everyone else, what's their excuse and why should we trust even their halacha, given that they believe such drivel?

After the attacks of September 11, people were talking about a Zohar in Chumash Bamidbar, about a big calamity heralding in the imminent arrival of moshiach, that unfortunately didn't happen.
(Ive been told, after the Holocaust there was a lot of talk about moshiach, then again in 1948, then again in 1967 after the six day war, then again in 1973 after the Yom Kippur war)

The navi מַלְאָכִי says who will come to advise us of moshiach's arrival (only one person):
I find it interesting that Daniel was from the generation of the Anshe K'neses Hagedolah, knew the nevi'im, had visions like a navi (although he's not from the 48 nevi'im), was probably as close as one can get to being a navi, without actually being a navi; is one of only two people to whom the קֵץ was revealed; and he said I don't understand (regarding the קֵץ); but people today, they understand, it makes a lot of sense!
And of course there is the well known opinion of Rambam on the topic:
רמב"ם הלכות מלכים ומלחמות פרק י"ב
