‘Down the rabbit hole’: Arizona GOP goes full fringe

 https://www.politico.com/news/2021/10/20/arizona-gop-fringe-516322

Just when it seemed Arizona Republicans couldn’t make more of a spectacle, they found another way.

As the party hardens around its fealty to former President Donald Trump, the GOP is filling up its midterm ballot with a roster of conspiracy theorists and extremists that could threaten the party’s prospects in a state that’s drifted leftward in recent elections.

  1. Meanwhile the Left are letting a group of Jew-hating women determine their agenda, encouraging Americans to hate their country and demanding the military degrade its capability in the name of social justice but hey, let's focus on the opposition. By all mean.

  2. Donald Trump won the election.
The vaccines kill and injure millions immediately, and millions more will die from it later.
    Immigration is a mess.
Inflation is here, brought on by the government printing money at will.
The world is warming, leading to climate change.
The U.S. government has made subtle and not so subtle denigration of White men a feature of its agenda.
Children in schools are being taught to hate White people.
The First Amendment is under attack by those who want to outlaw hate speech.

The Afghanistan withdrawal was not handled well.
The Insurrection was not actually an insurrection.

Only some of this is conspiracy theory.

The real conspiracy that this blog is part of is denying

THE FACT THAT AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INCORPORATES POLITICS AND ALWAYS HAS

and promoting the imperative that this fact

MUST BE NEGLECTED, CANCELED, AND MADE OFF LIMITS TO DISCUSS -- but only when it comes to Republicans.

  4. It's called politics. When a party embraces a plank on its political platform, this generally has the effect of strengthening the allegiance of some voters, and weakening the allegiance of other voters. That is the nature of party politics that must find common ground and create a consensus among thousands, sometimes millions, and even tens of milliins of people.

Pointing that out isn't a substitute for political commentary.

The Democrats to some extent have embraced the idea that a man can choose to be a man, a woman, both or neither.

The Republicans have embraced the idea to some extent that Donald Trump won in the last election.

These ideas bring in some voters and repel some voters.
