Fareed Zakaria: This is why Trump will lose the 2020 election ...

4 comments:

  1. Sorry not reading/watching your fake news posts. Trump will win in a landslide God willing with Republicans controlling House and Senate and with conservative judges controlling SCOTUS. Torah thought on נח.
“Whoever sheds the blood of man דם האדם , By man shall his blood be shed דמו ישפך ; For in His image Did God make man כי בצלם אלקים עשה את האדם . ואתם Be fertile, then, and increase; abound on the earth and increase on it פרו ורבו שרצו בארץ ןרבו בה . And God said ויאמר to Noah and to his sons with him לאמר , ואני As for me, I now establish מקים My covenant את בריתי with you and your offspring to come אתכם ואת זרעכם אחריכם , and with every living creatureבעוף בבהמה ובכל חית הארץ אתכם that is with you ואת כל נפש החיה אשר אתכם—birds, cattle, and every wild beast as well —all that have come out of the ark, every living thing on earth מכל יצאי התבה לכל חית הארץ. I will maintain והקמתי My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh כל בשר be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth לשחת הארץ.” (Genesis 9:6-11).
Hertz Chumash p. 33: “9.as for me. If man, by avoiding homicide, will do his part not to destroy human life, God will never send a Flood.”
My theory. God’s promise is contingent upon mankind behaving themselves. Beautiful. Would mankind behave themselves? We ask that question today.

Allow me my letter today to the NYS Court of Appeals:
“1.I'm writing to you based on my understanding of the NYS Constitution and on the basis of elementary fairness. I'm attaching an affidavit of service proving I mailed by UPS a true copy to Susan and to TIAA. I quote the Bible (Deuteronomy 16:18-20): You shall appoint magistrates and officials for your tribes, in all the settlements that the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall govern the people with due justice. You shall not judge unfairly: you shall show no partiality; you shall not take bribes, for bribes blind the eyes of the discerning and upset the plea of the just. Justice, justice shall you pursue, that you may thrive and occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
2.I request the NYS Court of Appeals to issue a stay on TIAA paying this coming November 1, 2020, December 1, 2020 etc.\ to Susan the \$1,000 or whatever it is nowadays. NYS Ct of Appeals has jurisdiction on ERISA matters.
3.Similarly, I request the NYS Court of Appeals to issue a stay on the \$25,000 fines/sanctions the Supreme Court Kings County issued against me. NYS Ct of Appeals has jurisdiction on fines/sanctions issued by lower courts in NYS.”
Will the NYS Court of Appeals tell me to make my requests in the form of a motion? Will they not reply to me? They hang up the phone on me. SCOTUS, hopefully, will give me a docket number.

  2. “Fareed Zakaria: This is why Trump will lose the 2020 election” No. In truth this is why Trump will win the 2020 election. See https://www.wsj.com/articles/californias-racial-scare-campaign-11603660881?mod=opinion_lead_pos1
“Gail Heriot, a University of San Diego law professor who sits on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and co-chairs the No on 16 campaign, notes that even in deep blue California voters aren’t buying coerced racial preferences. “The Yes on Prop 16 campaign manager told potential donors that, according to the campaign’s internal polling, accusations of white supremacy would be effective,” Ms. Heriot says. “But Californians aren’t that gullible.” Let’s hope she’s right.”

Our Sages, the Tanaim, are authorized to make rulings gezerot, for eminently good reasons. I love studying Talmud.

I support a No on Prop 16 as do most Californians. Prop 16 would allow race a factor in California universities acceptances. Terrible.

Well said: “It was ridiculous to paint Mr. Connerly as in league with the Klan then, and it’s as absurd to think that the Asian-Americans who feature prominently in the fight against Prop. 16 are also agents of white supremacy. They oppose Prop. 16 because they know their children will be its chief victims, especially in education. Look at the lawsuits against Harvard and Yale for the opaque process they use to penalize qualified Asian-American applicants.”

Opaque = not transparent or translucent; impenetrable to light; not allowing light to pass through. not transmitting radiation, sound, heat, etc. not shining or bright; dark; dull. hard to understand; not clear or lucid; obscure: The problem remains opaque despite explanations.

A big supporter of Yes on proposition 16 is Kama Harris.

  3. Torah thought on לך לך My theory very political times.
“An angel of the Lord found her by a spring עין of water in the wilderness, the spring העין on the road to בדרך Shur, and said, Hagar, handmaid שפחת of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going? And she said, I am running away ברחת from מפני my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the Lord said to her, Go back שובי to your mistress, and submit to her harsh treatment והתעני תחת ידיה. And the angel of the Lord said to her, I will greatly increase your offspring הרבה ארבה את זרעך And they shall be too many to count ולא יספר מרב. The angel of the Lord said to her further, Behold, you are with child And shall bear a son; You shall call him Ishmael [i.e., God heeds], For the Lord has paid heed to your suffering עניך. He shall be a wild ass of a man פרא אדם; His hand against everyone ידו בכל, And everyone’s hand against him ויד כל בו, He shall dwell alongside of all his kinsmen ועל פני כל אחיו ישכן. And she called the name of the שם Lord that spoke to her, You Are El-roi [apparently God of Seeing], by which she said אמרה, Have I even here seen Him that sees me הגם הלם ראיתי אחרי ראי! [meaning of Heb. uncertain]. Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi קרא לבאר באר לחי ראי [apparently the Well of the Living One Who sees me]; it is between Kadesh and Bered.” (Genesis 16:7-14)
My theory political times much as after the Ark. Noah was king. The politics was between Shem and Japhet on one side and Ham and Canaan on the other side. In לך לך Abram was king and Sarai queen. Oh no! Hagar wants to be queen. How could Abram be king and Sarai queen if Abram and Sarai have no heir no son? Surely, Hagar thought, I must be queen and not my barren mistress Sarai.
    Midrash Rabbah - Genesis XLV:7
“How many angels visited her [hence the angel told her that she would conceive again]? R. Hama b. R. Uanina said: Five, for each time speech is mentioned it refers to an angel. The Rabbis said: Four, this being the number of times angel occurs. R. Hiyya observed: Come and see how great is the difference between the earlier generations and the later ones! What did Manoah say to his wife? “But his wife said to him, Had the Lord meant to take our lives, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and meal offering from us, nor let us see all these things; and He would not have made such an announcement to us.” (Judges 13:22). Yet Hagar, a bondmaid, sees five angels and is not afraid of them! R. Aha said: The finger-nail of the fathers rather than the stomach of the sons! R. Isaac quoted: She seeth the ways of her household (Prov. XXXI, 27) [How much greater then was the honor conferred upon her in that an angel spoke to her!]: Abraham's household were seers, so she [Hagar] was accustomed to them.”

“She is clothed with strength and splendor; She looks to the future cheerfully. Her mouth is full of wisdom, Her tongue with kindly teaching. She oversees the activities of her household And never eats the bread of idleness. Her children declare her happy; Her husband praises her,” (Proverbs 31:25-28).
We say these passages every Shabbat eve before kiddush on wine. The idea is that the woman, is clothed with strength and splendor and looks to the future cheerfully her mouth full of wisdom.

My theory Hagar had political fight with Sarai. God spoke to her. Hagar then decides to return to being a handmaid to Sarai. Beautiful.

  4. Compare Noah v Abraham politics fighting for power and fake news.
“Ham, the father of Canaan, saw וירא his father’s nakedness את ערות אביו and told his two brothers outside ויגד לאחיו בחוץ.” (Genesis 9:22)
“He cohabited ויבא אל with Hagar and she conceived וטהר; and when she saw ותרא that she had conceived כי הרתה, her mistress was lowered in her esteem ותקל גברתה בעיניה.” (Genesis 16:4).
    Midrash Rabbah - Genesis XLV:4
“Thus the whole ninety years that Sarah did not bear she was like a bride in her canopy. Ladies used to come to inquire how she was, and she would say to them, Go and ask about the welfare of this poor woman [Hagar]. Hagar would tell them: My mistress Sarai is not inwardly what she is outwardly: she appears to be a righteous woman, but she is not. For had she been a righteous woman, see how many years have passed without her conceiving, whereas I conceived in one night! Said Sarah: Shall I pay heed to this woman and argue with her! No; I will argue the matter with her master! [“And Sarai said to Abram, The wrong done me is your fault! I myself put my maid in your bosom; now that she sees that she is pregnant, I am lowered in her esteem. The Lord decide between you and me!” (Genesis 16:5)]”
My theory. What to do with fake news? Lies and innuendoes faulting the leaders. How to respond if at all? Noah responded by cursing Canaan and blessing Shem and Japhet. Abraham responded by allowing Sarai to deal with the matter. My theory. Noah’s cursing Canaan was a mistake. Perhaps Noah could have used a mild respond as did Jacob to Simeon and Levi killing the males in Shechem.
Sarai tried to shut down the fake news Sarai and let God do as He pleases. Beautiful. In the end Hagar, herself, in the midrash was righteous. In the end, after all the reincarnations everyone becomes righteous. What to do until we get there? Abraham’s decision not to get personally involved with politics Sarai and Hagar worked well.
Noah? “This is the line of Noah.—Noah was a righteous man; he was blameless in his age; Noah walked with God.” (Genesis 6:9). Abraham? “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared וירא to Abram and said to him, I am El Shaddai [traditionally rendered God Almighty]. Walk in My ways and be whole-hearted תמים. I will make ואתנה My covenant between Me and you, and I will make you exceedingly numerous וארבה אותך במאד מאד.” (Genesis 17:1-2).
We have fake news political fights today. Much will be resolved when Trump wins decisively next week and Republicans controlling Senate and House. Good that Justice Amy is on SCOTUS. Already SOTUS is behaving better. SCOTUS ruled mailed in votes have to be mailed in by November 3, 2020.
