"Orthodox" gay marriage and the path to destruction

Rabbi Avraham Gordimer,
 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/25249

Last week, Avram Mlotek, a graduate of Open Orthodoxy's  Rabbinical Training Instittue,Yeshivat Chovevei Torah (YCT),, posted:
“I had the privilege of officiating a wedding on Sunday. In many ways, it was like any other simcha I've officiated: joyous, Jewish, spiritual, full of love. What made it different was that they were two men who joined in sacred, covenantal relationship. This coming week Jewish communities will hear two words uttered in synagogues across the globe: naaseh v'nishma, we will do and we will listen. We will act and we will understand. As I shared to the chatanim, the grooms, it is their passion, charge and desire for action which made this holy day possible. While some may not yet or ever fully comprehend, it is their actions, deeds and maasim tovim, their mitzvot, which will speak for themselves with inherent worth and value. Mazel tov!”

  1. OK, it is a halachic joke or oxymoron - can R' Gordimer make straight what is crooked? See Koheleth 7

  2. We've survived Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Humanistic. We'll survive the folks who dress Orthodox but aren't as well.

  3. From the article:
Obviously, for one to call himself an Orthodox rabbi while celebrating gay marriage and declaring it holy, is as Orthodox as granting kosher certification to Boar’s Head ham or including Wonder Bread in a Passover food directory.
The problem is that while these examples are obviously nonsensical and joke-worthy, Torat Chayim clergy members have twisted Judaism like a pretzel and genuinely believe that their views on homosexuality represent the Torah.

  4. just because he is a graduate of YCT, that does not mean YCT is ipso facto bad. Let's see, berland was not only a graduate of major yehsivas , he learned with major Gedolim. So does his rape , adultery, and charlatanism mean that all Hareidi institutes that respect his former teachers are all guilty of violating the Torah lock, stock and barrel?

  6. 'genuinely believe that their views on homosexuality represent the Torah'.
Genuinely believe? I doubt it , they are just part of the satanic NWO anti g-d reform unbelievers (like the ZionistS thinking that they know better then our Mesorah) just typical apikorsim

  8. These To'eivaniks should start saying Kaddish for themselves, because barring the "turkey baster" method, they won’t be leaving over anyone to say Kaddish for them.

  9. No institution is immune from having students who are rotten apples. However a good test for measuring the quality of an institution; is to examine who are the heads of the said institution, and how the majority of its students turn out.

Sadly, in numerous examples on this blog, both the leaders and students of YCT have been shown to be beyond the pale of what we consider to be Torah true Judaism. These failed rotten teachers, are producing a similar type of rotten fruits, and are leading their students down the path to Gehinnom.

  10. We indeed survived all these false ideologies, but at what cost?
We mourn for all the gullible victims that fell to wayside of Judaism, until the falsehoods of these foreign ideologies eventually became apparent.

  11. YCT is run by a man who thinks Israel should immediately grant all the Arabs in Yesha full citizenship and rebrand itself as Israstine, a binational non-Jewish state. Its Talmud head famously misread and misrepresents holy sources to prove that homosexuality is, in fact, permitted by the Torah. No, they did not protest.

  13. Being nice is all that matters. All the rest is commentary.

I think that sums it up pretty good. So men marrying men is good. Opposing it is bad because it's not nice to tell someone, or even imply to them, that they are a sinner. That would be judgemental, and judging is another big no-no.

So, yes, YCT has a Bait Midrash, and classes, and teachers, etc etc. But it all comes down to: Be nice. Don't judge. Trash the Torah and do it all while wearing Tzizis, a Kipa, and keeping Shabbos and Kashrus.
