Trump Is Not Well

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/09/donald-trump-not-well/597640/

It manifests itself in Trump’s impulsiveness and vindictiveness; his craving for adulation; his misogynypredatory sexual behavior, and sexualization of his daughters; his open admiration for brutal dictators; his remorselessness; and his lack of empathy and sympathy, including attacking a family whose son died while fighting for this countrymocking a reporter with a disability, and ridiculing a former POW. (When asked about Trump’s feelings for his fellow human beings, Trump’s mentor, the notorious lawyer Roy Cohn, reportedly said, “He pisses ice water.”)
The most recent example is the president’s bizarre fixation on falsely insisting that he was correct to warn that Alabama faced a major risk from Hurricane Dorian, to the point that he doctored a hurricane map with a black Sharpie to include the state as being in the path of the storm.
“He’s deteriorating in plain sight,” one Republican strategist who is in frequent contact with the White House told Business Insider on Friday. Asked why the president was obsessed with Alabama instead of the states that would actually be affected by the storm, the strategist said, “You should ask a psychiatrist about that; I’m not sure I’m qualified to comment.”

  1. You know what the difference between Trump and his detractors is?
Trump goes about his day and does his thing.
His detractors give up on their day, forget what their thing was and spend their entire time obsessively hating him.
    Who's the sick one?

  2. wow what a profound analysis -
yes trump seems to have little concern for the possibility he is wrong and seriously incompetent
and yes many people are bothered by his performance

  3. Compared to people who are obsessed with blogging against him 24 hours a day, and the ones who follow cnn who make up stories against him, and those that cannot see how he turned around the USA economy, they are the ones who have lost all credibility on anything they blog. Their hate towards him especially from Eidenson shows how crazy the people who are against him, and it goes to show you that Eidenson is a lot more crazier then Trump will ever be. The good part though is I learnt that whatever Eidenson writes is usually wrong. Including all his blogs against agunahs. Something is mentally wrong with him. He can’t control himself even though he must know we all laugh at him.

  4. Relax. Start stocking up on good, organic popcorn, and a state of the art popper. The fun has just started. These three and a half years were great -- no mistaking that.

But wait till President Trump wins re-election. I can't begin to imagine what that's going to be like.

One thing for sure. It's going to be better than everything that went before it, and that is saying a lot.

I mean, the primary was fantastiv. The campaign was good. The election was great. The Presidency is tremendous. But the second term....

Think of the President's enemies like people in jail who are appealing their sentence. And now they find out they lost on appeal.

  5. You are correct on both points. The problem is the obsession anti-Trumpers have with pointing that out day and night.
Back in Germany in the 1930's and 40's no conversation was complete without a couple of "Seil Heil" shout-outs. Failure to do that meant you would be suspected of disloyalty. Today for liberals, it's "I hate Trump". Failure to say that over and over again no matter what the topic of discussion calls into question your liberal credentials.

  7. he is mocking the liberals, in the way they have a rallying call, i.e. "I hate Trump". I think the communists also had something like that, as did the Maoists.

  8. That the President is "wrong", I won't debate here.

But to accuse him of being "incompetent" beggars belief.

Lots of Americans strive their entire lives to make a buck. President Trump has made billions of bucks.

Many people dream about getting elected to some office; some actually run, and of these, some get elected. The highest elected office in the whole entire country is the Presidency. President Trump, in his first formal attempt, won numerous primaries to gain the nomination of his newly adopted Party, and then won the GENERAL ELECTION FOR PRESIDENT OF ThE UNITED STATES.

He has numerous accomplishments under his belt as President. It could be his handling of North Korea has averted war there, at least for the time being.

It could be that President Trump will win re-election.

A lot of Americans like a winner. A lot of Americans respect a winner. A lot of Americans like a "bad boy".

We can disagree on whether the President is "right" or "wrong". But at least in the narrow area of electoral politics and full contact democracy, can we not find common ground in agreeing he is competent?

  9. My backing of President Trump is fascist. I think of fascism where businesses retain their independence, but take guidance from the government.

Of course, our American style fascism has little resemblance to the fascist regimes of Germany and Italy that brought the term fascism to life.

Still, there are fascist elements to my slavish support of President Trump.

And I use the word "fascist" to defuse the debate. Once we get the language out of the way we can discuss particulars.

Is openly promoting fascism in America dangerous?

Yes! And I could only espouse it because I am awsre that Rabbi Eidensohn and millions of other anti-Trumpers are doing their best to undermine the President.

I know that the moment that the President goes too far -- even for me -- that all I have to do is switch sides, and at that moment the Presidency of Donald Trump becomes history.

In other words, this blog and the drum banging media have my back.

Now, for the record, I did buy some organic popcorn and an excellent hot air popper, and they both came yesterday thanks to Amazon. I'll be munching along as the show continues to unfold.
