Wikipedia “The continued availability of fault grounds gives a spouse leverage in extracting a favorable settlement, as he or she can threaten to sue on a fault ground, which have adverse social or business effects on the other spouse, unless he or she is given what he or she wants in the settlement.”
The continued availability of kangaroo Jewish courts to issue a phony seruv to an alleged recalcitrant husband gives the angry wife leverage in extracting a favorable settlement, as she can threaten to cause adverse social or business effects on her husband unless she is given what she wants.
(internet 2012): “Supporters of Tamar Epstein, whose ex-husband, Aharon Friedman, refuses to give her a religious divorce, have been pressuring Friedman's boss, U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, R-Michigan, to fire Friedman. They have protested in front of Camp's office, signed a petition at change.org, started a website (freetamar.org) and in February, bombarded Camp's official congressional Facebook page. But Susan Aranoff, director of Agunah International, which supports Jewish women seeking divorces, said social media has little effect because many husbands still are resistant after all the bullets have been fired."
The 10 year jail sentence to Mendel Epstein shuts down kangaroo courts with a phony seruv. Now we have a phony marriage nullification: “It has been the position of the Baltimore BD from the beginning that Aharon has done nothing wrong, that he is not obligated to give a get, and that it is wrong to demonstrate against him. The Baltimore BD refused Tamar's demands to order that a get be given. So Tamar turned to Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky, who has extremely strong and long-standing financial and personal ties to Tamar's family.”
Edward de Bono , the author of many books on thinking and the creator of the term lateral thinking says that intelligent people are often bad thinkers because instead of being able to explore an idea and be creative , they are confined to defending their own positions or agreeing with those that fit in with what they think , which they happen to be good at. The punishment is the sin itself and worse not being able to Teshuvah. Everyone makes mistakes and it was perfectably logical and acceptable that he have sympathy for the girl and her family. The problem was to know the boundaries of his possible role
Allan katz says: “Everyone makes mistakes and it was perfectly logical and acceptable that he have sympathy for the girl and her family.” The girl, Tamar, deserted/abandoned her husband Aharon and took their daughter and went to live with her parents. The girl then goes to secular court and does a number on Aharon in civil court. Did Aharon have a fair hearing? Was he able to confront his accuser? The girl goes to agunahinternational and ORA and does rallies etc against Aharon. We in Israel marvel at Tamar’s doings: “The wisest of women builds her house, But folly tears it down with its own hands” (Proverbs 14:1). We in Israel marvel at those who attend agunahinternational and ORA rallies: “A passerby who gets embroiled in someone else’s quarrel Is like one who seizes a dog by its ears” (Proverbs 26:17). Shmuel Kamenetsky’s fake/phony licensed psychologist report is a crime not a mistake. The girl’s family gives him money.
