For Purim I have decided to stop fighting the Kaminetsky-Greenblatt Heter and have decided - as a public service - to describe how any woman can create her own Heter. Fredric Goldfein told jurors in the federal conspiracy and kidnapping trial of Rabbi Mendel Epstein that in his efforts to get a Maryland man to agree to a divorce, Epstein instructed him to wire $60,000 to two of the congregations he led. A few months after the money was transferred to Epstein's congregations, the husband, Aharon Friedman, was attacked on July 29, 2012, by three men at the home of his former in-laws in Pennsylvania in an attempt to force him to issue the divorce. Goldfein, testifying for the federal government in exchange for immunity, said he was surprised when he heard about the attack on Friedman and called another rabbi to try to learn more details. On my blog toorahhalacha.blogspot.com I have two posts on the failure of the Feinstein Beth Din. One, Rav Dovid Feinstein gave out nothing in writing, so he never said anything. The only record of some pesak is from Shalom Kaminetsky who accepted the pesak. But the major players are invisible. This will lead to a situation where any woman can assume that different rabbis disagree, and that Rabbi Feinstein simply disagrees with other great rabbis. The main thing to counter this is to tell it like it is. This Beth DIn was set up at the request of RSK, and it worked. He came out clean. He is not clean. Nor is Reb Dovid. The dirty details are on my blog where it belongs.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Reb Dovid not have an obligation to order RSK to tell Tamar to separate from her husband? Because he did not do this, it is obvious that the whole Beth Din had nothing to do with the Torah, but with clearing RSK, a fellow traveler at the Agudah. Now the Agudah will go back to honoring RSK as the great one. From now on, as far as I am concerned, it is war, against Reb Dovid, against RSK, and against Greenblatt. Rabbi Greenblatt told somebody that he stands by his heter and it is stronger than the heters mentioned in Igeres Moshe. Who knows how many women he will destroy and how many mamzerim he will make. From now on, any GET or conversion or negation of marriage by Greenblatt must not be accepted until a proper Beth DIn checks everything out.
The Gaon Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashev zt"l told me that any Beth Din or Posek that does unacceptable things to permit women to remarry does not have chezkas Beth Din. That surely includes Greeenblat. This is war, a war against the invented "Gedolim" of every stripe, even the ones who are honest but don't have the guts to refuse a favor that will destroy the world. That is not a Gadol, and if he is great learner but does destructive things, we have to recognize his weak spots and not forget them.
And this war must be against the Agudah, which surely knew of the opinions of the great poskim against RSK, and yet honors him as if nothing happened. Such as person as RSK is not a great posek, is not a gadol, and should not be honored by anyone until he does teshuva for his mamzer making. This is the first time in history that the Agudah honored a mamzer maker as a Gadol. It is our job to assure that it will be the last time.
