Child abuse: Police say father had legal right to beat up son's molester

A Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son early Friday morning, police said.

The father called 911 around 1 a.m. after he walked in on the alleged abuse, police said. When officers arrived, they found Raymond Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

"He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you," the father told the 911 dispatcher. "I drug him out to the living room."[...]

The father has not been charged with any crime.

"Dad was acting like a dad. I don't see anything we should charge the dad with," Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said. "You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times.

  1. In today's messed-up world the Police Chief's words - though entirely sensible - seem so out of place that it's almost surreal.

  2. I'm amazed that this animal only had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth. I don't know how the father didn't do an Epstein story? B"H that the police department is using some common sense in not even thinking of charging the father.

  4. He was a trusted next door neighbor and was often over at the house. The father went out for a little while to get food and when he returned knew something was wrong. He thought his house was too quiet. The abuse was going on for three years. The boy was too scared to tell anyone. His abuser lived next door.

  5. My comment is based on the quotes in Daytona beach news journal. Always do the unexpected when friends are over. Beware.
