Boro Park reacts to "chassidic" actors on 13th Ave

Fascinating to see the consternation when they realized they couldn't differentiate goyim dressed as chassidim and the real thing.

  1. The actors portraying Chasidim are actually OTD Chasidim who "freid out". So it is little surprise that they can dress up like chasidim accurately.

Also, what's so surprising even for a goy to dress up accurately?

    1. Actually not, the article said that because they had problems in the past using Jews all of the actors are non-Jewish.

    2. Actually not, I read that all the actors are non-Jews to avoid any problems.

  3. Not a cause for celebrationJanuary 9, 2013 at 11:12 PM

Who needs such garbage in frum neighborhoods? Based on past experience, usually when tv and movie cameras come rolling in, esp. from some series that is already known to be not in line with our values, the result doesn't make us look good.

Rather than being a cause for celebration, I think it is cause for שק ואפר, like with the תרגום שבעים.
