ORA vs. Rav R' Feinstein's grandson

Jewish Press  article taken down - thanks to Rabbi Tzadok for alternative
The letter and the seruv below - were part of the Jewish Press Article
Please note the disparity between Stern's claim for support for public demonstrations and the actual letter which just says to publicize the matter  - which can also be done with a letter on a bulletin board.
================================
Jewish Press Archive  JP: Your latest case is against Rabbi Reuven Feinstein’s grandson. Are you afraid of going toe-to-toe with some of these leading rabbis?

JS: We don’t see it as us vs. them. It’s not ORA that’s doing it. We are the enforcement agent of the Beis Din and these rabbis are coming out and instructing the community to take a stand. Rav Reuven Feinstein, the grandfather of Avrohom Meir Weiss, is supporting him, but every rabbi is on the other side. We have Rav Malkiel Kotler, Rav Shmuel Kaminetsky, Rav [Hershel] Shecheter, Rav [Mordechai] Willig and Rav [Notta] Greenblatt — all these rabbis from different yeshivas are all coming together. We’ve tried to resolve this dispute but the community has to take a stand. It is unique to have such broad support.

  1. Rav Nota Greenblatt is an expert in Gittin, and I give his signing on to this significant weight, more than any of the others.

  2. The link didnt work so I went to the JP website and did a search for "Jeremy Stern". This was the first article to pop up but that link didnt work either! Perhaps someone wanted this taken down???

    1. You have no proof at all she abducted ger child. We do know he went to secular costing his wife thousands of dollars which he really has to pay her as he is a mazik. I am sure Reb Moshe Zatzal would not allow such a chillul Hashem. I can not understand how any yid can be so cruel to his wife. At the end he will get his just punishment with all the people that back him. If our Gedolim don't protest such a travesty then we all should.

    2. Eli, there is copious, incontrovertible proof that she did withhold the child from his father. The incident was captured on tape. Second, the father took the mother to secular court ONLY TO PROTECT HIS LEGAL RIGHTS TO HIS CHILD and to receive emergency relief. The continuing action in court is the result of the MOTHER, who is being protected by the establishment machine, filing a divorce proceeding against the father. The father is the DEFENDANT he cannot possibly withdraw. The mother is the plaintiff. This is public record. As to the monetary hezek, the Dodelsons are wealthy, the Weiss's are going bankrupt. Wake up, smell the coffee, and find out the facts. Not the drivel a sheretz like Jeremy Stern puts out. Thank you, Menachem Stein.

  6. Well let's see:

1)He is a get refuser(don't know the circumstances there).
2)He went to Arkaot against his wife against the ruling of a Beit Din: There is no good way to cut that.
    3) A B"D has ruled him someone who is לא ציית לדינא(someone who willfully disregards Torah).

For two of the three Nidui is called for there. So why shouldn't they protest outside his home?
I will admit that Rabbi Jeremy Stern is finding justification by stretching to the limits the ruling of a Beit Din.

  7. If one parent unilaterally relocates a child or doesn't let the child spend time with the second parent (and what happened in this specific case is not publicly known), what is the second parent supposed to do? In most States, a Beis Din decision on child custody is completely unenforceable, even with a binding arbitration agreement, which itself makes the further assumption that both sides are able to agree on a specific beis din.

ORA has a track record of supporting child abductors and trying to prevent children from having relationships with both parents.

Thank you observer for standing up for the truth. Really people, saying that weiss is in the right is also saying that almost all American Rabbis were hoodwinked, from Elya Ber Wachtfogel to Hershel Shechter. There's an unpublished letter to Feinstein with 10's of Rabbinical signatures, a veritable who's who of American Rabbis, from Jeremy Stern to Shlomo Miller...

    4. Observer please read the presvious posts such ashttp://daattorah.blogspot.com/2012/06/oras-inconsistencies-regarding-aharon.html

Ora has zero credibility! The workers of ora are a bunch of twenty year old shnooks with no experience in life or torah values. They are more than happy to share the "facts" that suit their agenda but always leave out the other half.

You could be rest assured that there is much more to this story then what ora has told you.

As a side note you mention that at first she let him see the kids but if she is not allowing him to see them now that is child abuse. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  8. You have made good points, but before passing judgement maybe you should find out the facts from the other side as well, before advocating for protests. I would bet there is a lot more to this case then what Jeremy Stern tells you ( as it has been proven with other cases he has been involved with).

    1. So let him make his case in Beis din. At least answer the hazmana. I did speak with someone on the girls side, even if half of what I hear is true, it's terrible what she is going thru. I would suggest that anybody who holds back a get after Beis din says to give it, no one should be משדך with them. Then maybe people would think twice before hurting someone else. I am talking thru experience.

      Delete
    2. Thank you, you have just shown everyone exactly why both sides in a case need to be heard. People like yourself only go and listen to one side and then pass judgement. For all you know what the girl said is a lie, the fact is we don't know.
The reality is that ora is an extremely dangerous element in the Jewish community. Contrary to what Ora claims they are not the enforcement agent of the beis din listed and none of the so called signatories endorse ora or their tactics.

Ora are radicals from YU who do not have any endorsements from the chareidi world. Besides they lack any credibility due to their lies and misinformation they have spread in other cases. (for examples look at some of the previous stories that were featured on this blog).
Lets face it the protests and shaming of the husbands and their families with lies and humiliation will do nothing to help solve the matter at hand (i.e. tamar epstein case) it will only unnecessarily drag things out longer.

    3. You Cant Handle The TruthJune 22, 2012 at 5:44 PM

Ora may be radicals with no endorsements in the Chareidi world, but in this case the point is moot. What will you say when the rally is attended by Kotler and schustal?

    4. Please report back if this happens

      Delete
    5. First of all why dont you have a little bit of kavod hatorah their names are RAV kotler and RAV schustal.

I am simply pointing out the problems with associating with ORA.

I wonder if the rabbanim are aware that:

Jeremy STern has gone on fox news and stated " the Jewish community certainly has started to discuss whether a rabbi should be able to officiate a divorce without one party's permission -- but said the community "is not at a point right now where they're willing to fundamentally change how Jewish marriage and divorce works." Jeremy Stern is an Apikoris!!!

ORA is the erev rav of our generation and cause people to sin. Case in point last year they ran a fundraiser in a Manhattan bar (that serves cheeseburgers) for Young jewish professionals. Unlimited beer and mixed drinks. Still waiting for R' shachter to say that it assur for young single men and women to get drunk in a treif manhattan bar. I guess he holds its muttar since ORA has on it letterhead that it runs under the guidance of R' Shachter!

At a recent demonstration there were men and women mixed together singing together while some of the girls were half naked. Kol Isha and tznius is not an issue either I guess.

Ora has proven who they are already. On this blog there have been numerous articles about the misinformation, lies and perversion of halachah that they have spewed forth in other cases. They advocate the use of children as a tool to get what they want. (that child abuse)!

Any woman who gets them involved with their divorce runs the risk of becoming a real agunah or receiving a get that could be pasul, resulting in questionable mamzeirus of any future children she will have.

Any person who joins them in shaming or spreading the lies they spew forth will one day have to give din vcheshbon.

  9. Without speaking to the facts of any particular case, a get is NOT the only issue about which a divorcing couple should treat each other in good faith, and that is particularly the case when the couple in question are also the parents of a child or children. Even if the couple will no longer remain married, the child should continue to have each parent actively involved in his or her life. Each parent's recognizing this and acting in accordance with the best interests of the child (and not presuming that what one parent believes will make that parent happier is necessarily in the best interests of the child) is of far more importance than ANY other issue.

  10. Once again I direct my comments to Sam,
He did respond to the Hazmanos. The Beis Din summarily ignored his responses. The " problem" the father has here is that he is a Feinstein. Feinsteins do not "work the street" nor do they "spin" things. They will not put out letters, hold protests etc. because of this, there side of the story is not being heard. Avrohom Meir's father is a Talmid Chacham of the highest degree. What is being done to his family is a crime that, unfortunately, people will pay dearly for in the next world.
Aside from that, how ANYONE could align themselves with a mnuvel like Jeremy Stern is incomprehensible.

    2. Checking the facts with ora is like getting the truth from Madoff. You obviously have not seen the previous posts regarding ora inconsistincies regarding their positions. They are an organization that promotes terror, motzei shem ra and openly support using children to get what they want. Jeremy stern himself is one of the biggest frauds out there with presenting misinformation to suit his needs. There is a reason why there is not one chareidi rav that endorses or supports him.

  20. Nobody will accept facts from my comments here, so I'll skip those. First let me give credit to the posters (u know who you are) for their novel concoction of the facts of the case.
I think what we will agree to is that Weiss has a major rosh yeshiva and posek who is intimately familiar with the case and backs him 100%. Secondly, even the fact-changers here I think would agree that the Weisses have taken the high road here. The mudslinging coming from the wife's side is just disgusting. Look here and see how an upstanding lakewood family from go to YESHIVA UNIVERSITY of all places to find a group of thugs to make a public demonstration and a Chillul Hashem Brabim to promote their agenda.
The fact that the case has been dragging on this long requires the participation of the dodalson's as well. To sink to this low, and call Gital a agunah is absolutely an embarrassment to their lineage.
Before we get involved in attacking the rabbanim on either side, we all must remember that this is not our place. Korach was a great man as well. And look what happened to him. It is not for the public here to attack and belittle the rabbanim, who we all know can be swayed to one side when only presented with half the details (conveniently).
To attend the proposed rally on sunday, would be to take a part in a massive Chillul Hashem, a massive Bizayon Talmid Chacham, and a great source of anguish to one of the major gedolim of America.

It's very clear that these 2 should go to a beis din but none of us outsiders reading about this on the internet can figure out whose fault it is the they are not in beis din.

Now ORA comes in and says "who cares whose fault this is? He has to give a get!". "And we have rabbis who say he's wrong".

I and most people on the internet have a great degree of mistrust for documents signed by rabbis. And I don't think someone must give a get before the case has been heard in a bes din. If you want to make a demonstration go to both their houses and chant "stop being meagen yourselves! get your selves to a beis din!"

  23. Chaim from LakewoodJune 25, 2012 at 1:35 PM

I was in Staten Island yesterday. I doubt "Stan" was. We were very peaceful. We stayed for an hour and had about 150 people there. I came to see what these rallies were like. I had no real knowledge of the issue besides the peripheral.
As a "right winger', I am very embarrassed to have been at a rally with the YU organization. I don't know how the wife's family, being a respected family, let alone related to the Kotlers, can ally with an organization like ORA, but I felt that Daas Torah allowed it and I wanted to go, so I went.
The Weisses are obviously not rich people. The houses on the opposite side of the block look very impressive but the Weisses house, which I understand is not fully theirs, is not exactly special. I also don't think anyone was home or they did a great job of hiding. Maybe "Yaakov Wolfson" was hiding them.
We were promised some of the big Roshei Yeshiva there but only got the "B team" - at best. We came in 2 busses and probably had more police there than needed. As I said, we were respectful and peaceful.
On the way home, I realized that numbers don't matter. Is 150 people, about 75 from Lakewood, all that agree with the Dodelsons (wife's side)? Does that mean that more people in Lakewood, the "silent majority" all think the husband is right? Working on this line of thinking, I asked myself if it really made a difference how many rabbis are on one side or another. I also realized that no one from the Weisses side ever talk. I like the way we all blame Rabbi Feinstein for the issues, but we simply don't know. No one ever talks. As the saying goes "those who know don't talk and those who talk don't know". People like Stan and others may know part of the story but they truly know nothing.
I also went over the letters and realized that the rabbis' signatures are on a paper that never connected Feinstein and Weiss by relation. It was as though they, the other side according to Stan, wanted to hide this fact. I am not sure why they did it this way. Were they trying to hide the fact that the other side has a true gadol or were they showing they disagreed (like Stan wants to think) with his ruling? Unfortunately, ORA were the ones that blew the whole thing up to show the relationship. Perhaps more people would have come if they didn't think this was a fight amongst rabbis and a rally to defend an innocent woman. I simply don't know.
I will say that a person who has been separated for so long should realize that their marriage is over and end it. I think the husband can wait until after the civil divorce though. As far as the arkaos and this rabbi and that rabbi, leave me alone. A rav is a rav. All of us living in Lakewood know that. We may not agree with a rav on any specific issue but we know, deep down in our hearts (even Stan's) that they are bigger than we are and their view counts.
So, I appreciated going yesterday to see what it was like. I realized numbers don't make a difference. I realized that a rabbi is worth his weight in gold, that fights have 2 sides and the more I think I know the less I really do. "Stan" that last part goes double for you and the other know it alls that are here. Lastly, I doubt I will ever go to another ORA rally in my life. However, if someone wants to protest chilul shabbos - count me in.

    1. There weren't much more than 25 people, if you don't count the cops. Bussed in, no less. They couldn't even find much support locally. So they needed the Kipa Sruga crowd.

    2. If I were you Chaim I would go beg R Reuvein mechillah for causing him unjustified tzar and the huge chillul hashem you took part in. After 120 I dont think your daas torah excuse will go well in the beis din shel mailah. You should have done your research before following blindly.

Are you even aware of the countless issurim Jeremy Stern is oiver on a daily basis? Are you aware thet he is a koifer and supports the abuse of children? Did you bother to call reb reuvein or the weiss family?

  24. A husband does not have to give up his marriage even if his wife walks out on him for a very extended period of time. He has the right to insist that the marriage get back together.

  25. This post was sent in by Tzadok BECAUSE the 'Jewish Press On Line' took down the page withing 24 hours of it being posted.
Did anybody stop and ask WHY?!? Why did the 'JP on line' take it down?
And did anybody notice that the Jewish Press Paper has stopped supporting Jeremy Stern and ORA? Ask yourself why this may be. And then call Jeremy Stern at ORA and ask HIM why for years the JP supported his organization and now they have backed away from him and will not publish anything related to him and ORA. call him and ask him - just don't expect the truth from him. If the JP no longer supports him, I don't think we should either!
