CNN, MS NOW, Politico say their journalists have been denied access to the White House

The White House denied CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists access to its grounds Saturday, the networks announced, a day after President Trump said he was banning them from the premises after accusing them of producing “purposefully negative stories.”

“Earlier this morning MS NOW journalists were denied access to the White House grounds. The White House belongs to the American people and the decisions made inside are funded by our tax dollars,” MS NOW wrote in a statement posted just after 8 a.m. Saturday. “MS NOW intends to take any and all steps necessary to defend our First Amendment rights and the essential role of independent journalism in our democracy.”

Trump announced his decision to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House “effective immediately” in a Friday Truth Social post, accusing the three outlets of reporting false information about him and his administration.
