The preservative was already removed from childhood vaccines by 2001, and was never present in the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, according to the agency.

DeleteIt was tested plenty on humans and, had this not been an incredible huge crisis, would've been tested further over a couple of years. However, "time is luxury you cannot afford" (Khan, ST:TWOK). We needed a vaccine and we needed it NOW. People forget that millions were getting seriously ill and dying and an urgent solution had to be found.
