Conflicts of interest weren’t exactly taken seriously in the first Trump administration. But Musk’s ubiquity in Trump 2.0 as the standout ally in an emerging inner circle of billionaires, millionaires and Fox News anchors means they have officially become a joke.
Those of us with memories recall how, until the early 00's, Trump was a darling of American liberal society. He was a Democrats and other Democrats loved him. He was an amazing real estate developer and occasional TV star. And then he joined the Republicans and suddenly it's "He's awful and he's always been awful and there's only awful things about him!"
ReplyDeleteMusk was a darling of the liberal left. You're worried about climate change? He made e-cars a real and feasible thing. He sponsored all sorts of important research. He was changing the world for the good. And then he started to side with Trump. Now it's "Elon is evil! He's always been evil! There's only evil things abou him"
