Gemar Chasima Tova

4 comments:

  1. I lived for many years next to Rabbi Shloush who annually made a point that we say Kesiva until Neilah when we finally say Chasima. So he was very against saying Gmar Chasima Tova until Neilah. In any case here is hoping and davening we have an amazing sweet and positive new year, the entire year and maybe even Ironheart or whatever he calls himself will do teshuva.

    1. I remember hearing that according to Kabbalah, there is an extra Neilah, on Hoshana Rabba/ Shemina Atzeret - ie we are given further opportunity beyond Yom Kippur. how widespread is this thought?

    2. My understanding is that we stop saying Ksiva after midday RH because the writing is done at that point.

    3. We say Kosveinu in every single shemona esrei for all Aseres Yemei Teshuva except for Neilah. Obviously we are asking Hashem to WRITE something. 🤔

You may say that we hope to be written immediately and only beinonim are suspended but that's not what we daven.
