US President Joe Biden on Saturday called Israel's killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah "a measure of justice" for his many victims and said the United States fully supported Israel's right to defend itself against Iran-supported groups.

Biden said he had directed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to enhance further the defense posture of US military forces in the Middle East to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a broader war.

  1. Meanwhile I read that Blinken and Austen are mad at Israel for making such a decisive move without telling them. They would've told Israel not to.

    1. When Begin ordered the bombing of Iraq s osirak reactor in the 80s, VP Bush was very critical of Israel. He then did the same thing in desert storm 10 years later.

    2. I wonder how much of this is America's desire to keep Israel from winning the war while keeping Iran happy, and jealousy knowing that after their withdrawal from Afghanistan no one takes American power seriously anymore.

    3. They have public spats with Israel so they can have some kind of deniability in the Muslim world, but they do give massive military aid even more than they have in the past. Which suggests to me that there is some kind of strategic collaboration between Israel and the West and the end point is to remove the Islamic regime in Iran.
