DeleteThe minute Israel started the ground invasion, the White House stopped being supportive. Instead of "We stand with Israel" it immediately became "There are too many civilian casualties!" and "Israel has to resupply Hamas with food and medicine".
DeleteEven this statement you quoted shows the change of sides: Yes, we want you to destroy Hamas, but not by attacking their final base and destroy their remaining forces. Find another way!
It's like telling a boxer "I want you to go into the ring and beat the other guy but you can't use your fists."
