Is This What True Friendship With Israel Looks Like, America?

By abstaining rather than an explicit veto, the U.S. allowed the Security Council to put Israel in the defendant's docket, alongside Hamas. It's an astounding degree of moral equivalency between an Iran-backed terrorist organization and the democratically elected government of the State of Israel.

Or, as Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan put it, "It was the Hamas massacre that started this war... Nearly six months has passed, and the Security Council still has not condemned the child-murdering rapists that started this war. The resolution just voted upon makes it seem as if the war started by itself... Israel did not start this war, nor did Israel want this war."

  1. If it wasn't that I realize the Americans are not this smart, I would think this vote was to Israel's advantage.
    1) The resolution mentions unconditional release of all the hostages. Right now Israel and Hamas are negotiating over 40 hostages for 700 Jew killers (and wanna-be killers). People say Hamas will walk away from the table because "the UN says you have to surrender to us!" but Israel can walk away saying "the UN says you have to release all the hostages unconditionally"
    2) Both conditions are in the resolution. Israel can easily say "Sure, we accept the entire resolution. Release the hostages and we'll stop" while all Hamas can say (because they don't even know where the hostages are anymore) is "First stop and then we'll talk about releasing some" which violates the resolution.
(And yes, we all know the world community is expected Israel to follow the resolution and ignoring Hamas' violations of it)
    3) Biden can say to Michigan - see? I didn't block the demand for a ceasefire! I got Bibi mad at me! You can vote for me now! Which is entirely why he's turning on Israel slowly

    1. Agreed, Bibi should control his kaas, and try to play this resolution to his advantage. Say we are willing to keep our part of the bargain, if hamas keep theirs. Get prepared for a ceasefire, and and even start 1 hr ceasefire, and see if there is any release of hostages. if not, then pullout

    2. Henry Kissinger once remarked that “it may be dangerous to be America’s enemy, but to be America’s friend is fatal.”
