Torn pants of late haredi Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky will be auctioned starting at $3,200

 https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/article-732466

Rather, the pants once belonged to the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, an Israeli haredi Orthodox leader considered by his followers to be the leading Jewish authority of his generation. Kanievsky died last year at age 94, and now anyone can be the owner of his trousers – provided they can afford them. The starting bid is $3,200.

  1. So were these weekday or Shabbos pants? I can't imagine the weekday ones being worth this much but if you can find his Yom Kippur pants, that's gold!

Attacking Orthodox Jews as deceitful looters of money leads to violence against Jews, -- the hate crimes in Brooklyn.

Yes Jews have always been very rich. We read in Exodus 25:3-7 “And this is the offering which ye shall take of them: gold, and silver, and brass; and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair; and rams’skins dyed red, and sealskins, and acacia-wood; oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense; onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate.”

Torah thought on parsha Trumah: Exodus 25: 16And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee. 21And thou shalt put the ark-cover above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

Why repeat to put into the ark the Ten Commandments in 16 and 21? Oh, see, to prevent completing the ark with cherubim etc and then---oh, we forgot to put into the ark the Ten Commandments so we have to remove the cherubim etc.

  5. Oh poo! I was trying to get some people in my shul interested. We have a nice display case and I hoped we could stimulate tourism interest.

  6. It'll take more than R' Chaim's trousers, to revive a declining community.

  7. Who says we're declining? We just need more money.

  8. I didn't wish to comment on this because of the bizayon.
But the bizayon started when it was certified and put up for auction, by insiders.
