Rabbi Meir Mazuz, head of the Kisei Rahamim Yeshiva, responded in his weekly lesson on Saturday night to the uproar following his remarks last week against the Gay Pride Parades and against Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, the first openly gay Knesset Speaker in Israel’s history.
"The country is in an uproar. What? I said? No one else said the same thing? The Torah said 'it is an abomination', what do you want from my life?" said Rabbi Mazuz.
Last week, Rabbi Mazuz implicitly hinted that Ohana, who served as Public Security Minister at the time of the Meron disaster in 2021, was responsible for the disaster.
Yes, Mazuz is over the line. I know there's this unwritten obligation to blame anything they don't like or any disaster on someone, as if God Himself secretly told them His plans but it's all bovine faeces.
ReplyDeleteThe Torah forbids the homosexual act, not homosexuals. You want to bring up the to'eivah factor? Well the Torah also calls financial crimes a to'eivah. Oh, hello there Aryeh Deri.
The good rabbi correctly condemned homosexual activity; he spoke nothing about mere homosexual "orientation" by anyone who does not act upon such desireds. Ohana, may he burn in hell, not only engages in actual homosexual conduct, he admits to doing so publicly and proudly and brings his homosexual lover to a public platform in the Israeli government and Knesset to laud him.
