DeSantis Tells Allies to Stay Mum About Trump’s ‘Nazi’ Dinner. It’s Part of a Bigger Plan

But when it comes to some of Trump’s most Jewish and pro-Israel supporters who have spoken out against the dinner, the former president has been taking down names, as is his spiteful wont. In the past few days, some pro-Trump Jews — including his former Israel ambassador and bankruptcy attorney David Friedman — appeared to publicly back away from him or condemn his recent actions, the ex-president privately reacted with his typical fury and grievance, telling advisers that some of his top Jewish conservative backers were being “disloyal,” after all he’d done for them and for Israel, one person with direct knowledge of the complaints and another source briefed on them say.

  1. Well it's a strategic move for DeSantis. Sometimes you gotta give your enemy the rope he'll use to hang himself. In this case, Trump is quite willing to buy his own.

  2. Here is the story. Some politicians communicate by using subtlety and hints. Thus, who they dine with in a semi-public place like a country club will be designed to send some political message.

President Trump, as you are aware, is not that kind of politician. Subtlety and painstaking calculation are not descriptive of his do-my-thing and ignore-advisers'-warnings style.

President Trump didn't know Mr. Fuentes before the dinner, and only invited him on the spur of the moment when Mr. Fuentes showed up with an invited guest.

This demonstrates graciousness. President Trump does not have to apologize for being gracious; nor should he be rude by condemning his guest for being there.

  3. Here's the funny thing - Donald Trump is a former president who currently holds no political office. But what do you say when active politicians include a minister in the government attend a social event with a Holocaust denier?

Oh well, but they're all liberals or socialists, and it was a non-partisan event and criticism of them would be Islamophobic, and so on. No, the minister has no comment or regrets and certainly has no intention of resigning.
    Trump: the Jew of politicians.
