Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott Need to Read the Bible

 https://www.newsweek.com/ron-desantis-greg-abbott-need-read-bible-1746804

If I had to boil the Bible down to 10 consistently repeated principles and lessons that are unmistakably clear throughout scripture, one of them would have to be the compassionate, generous, and ethical treatment of immigrants. It's not a riddle in scripture. You don't need a theologian to interpret those verses. They are about as plain any ancient text could ever be. And the Bible says it over and over and over again. Why? Well, the folksy way I was taught was that the Bible only repeats the same lesson over and over again for one key reason that is still clearly relevant today... the authors, whether you believe them to be divinely inspired or not, knew that this lesson would be so frequently ignored that telling it once, twice, or even ten times simply wouldn't be enough.

  1. They missed the part about wiping out your enemies including the women and children. That gets mentioned a lot. Is the author also okay with that as a standard US tactic in war?
Also the Bible condemns homosexuality in a bunch of places. I assume he's good with that too?
Or is he reading a poor English translation and deciding what it means based on his limited and bias views?

  3. “Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott Need to Read the Bible” No to Garnel “the part about wiping out your enemies including the women and children.” No to KA “not to mention Lo Yilbash” In Bnei Brak I don’t hear bad mouthing the Bible such as Garnel and KA. KA, the law is that one can wear opposite sex clothing if no immoral intentions. My theory. Everyone has authority to interpret the Bible. Not trolls though. A troll is a person who posts inflammatory, insincere, digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), a newsgroup, forum, chat room, online video game, or blog), with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses, or manipulating others' perception. This is typically for the troll's amusement, or to achieve a specific result such as disrupting a rival's online activities or manipulating a political process. Even so, Internet trolling can also be defined as purposefully causing confusion or harm to other users online, for no reason at all.

Daas Torah thought this week’s parsha וילך “ Vayyelech 14And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Behold, thy days approach that thou must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a charge.’ And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tent of meeting. 15And the LORD appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud; and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent. 16And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Behold, thou art about to sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go astray after the foreign gods of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake Me, and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17Then My anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will say in that day: Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us? 18And I will surely hide My face in that day for all the evil which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.” (Deuteronomy 31).

“Where is Esther indicated in the Torah? [In the verse,] And I will surely hide [asthir] my face.”
Beautiful. We survived the evil intentions of the wicked Haman Today the wicked Khamenei.is murdering protestors of the morality police in Iran. Today the wicked Putin is drafting young men who are trying at all costs to flee to Finland or wherever.
God only pretended to hide His face in the time of Ester. God is our Father our King.
I believe God will overthrow the wicked Khamenei and the wicked Putin as God overthrew the wicked Hamen and the wicked Pharaoh etc.

  4. No to Gerald because you missed my point. Liberals like to take a verse out of the Bible and present it as the whole package. My point is that this is ignorant.

  5. "KA, the law is that one can wear opposite sex clothing if no immoral intentions"

Really? Where is your source for that?

  6. Ohh Gerald, badmouthing the Bible? Where did you make that up from?
Is quoting the Torah equivalent to badmouthing it? What are you on?
LGBT ends with lo Yilbashism, so even air stewards are now allowed to cross dress. It is ubiquitous hefkeirus. Bnei brak is a red herring. If you don't accept the Torah, doesn't matter where you are. And same with cross dressing.

  7. I read the whole article Pastor Shaun King the author of the article is an anti-Trumper and a liberal. He says: “For the life of me, I don't know how Christian conservatives justify their repeated abuses and mistreatment of immigrants in America. At this very moment nearly a hundred immigrant children who were forcefully separated from their parents at the border years ago by the Trump administration still have not been reunited with their families.”
    Pastor Shaun King cites 10 passages: 1)Leviticus 19:33,34 2)Exodus 22:21 3)Exodus 23:9 4)Deuteronomy 23:16 4)Deuteronomy 27:19 5)Deuteronomy 10:18,19 6)Zechariah 7:10 7)Psalm 146:9Jeremiah 7:6 10)Jeremiah 22:3
You and KA don’t relate to any of these passages. You and KA attack. Who selected this article for posting on our Daas Torah? We on Daas Torah firmly believe, this week’s parsha וילך “12Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law; 13and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over the Jordan to possess it.’” (Deuteronomy 31).

  9. This is a common mistake on the right and left - quote what you want, downplay or ignore what you don't.
