In 2002, Lanner was convicted of sexually abusing two teenage girls who were students in the 1990s at the Hillel Yeshiva High School in Ocean Township, New Jersey, where he was principal [https://www.jta.org/2002/10/11/ny/lanner-gets-7-year-prison-term].
