לפני מספר חודשים, נכנס לביתו של מרן שר התורה הגאון רבי חיים קנייבסקי, יו"ר המרכז הישראלי למוגנות, הרב אשר מלמד, ושאל את מרן הגר"ח, שאלה שנדמה שכעת היא רלוונטית מתמיד.
הרב מלמד, קצין משטרה לשעבר, המטפל כיום בפגיעות קשות בתוך המגזר החרדי, שאל את מרן הגר"ח קנייבסקי, באמצעות נכדו ר' אריה קנייבסקי, מה לעשות עם אדם שפוגע באופן קשה בילדים ואם לא ילכו למשטרה, אותו אדם ימשיך לפגוע?
מרן הגר"ח השיב: "צריך ללכת למשטרה בשקט, שלא יידעו"
Unfortunately, much as we appreciate Rav Chaim Shlit"a, this is not leadership.

We look up to our leaders to be Manhig us when we are confused, angry and feel let down.
A Manhig will share the peoples' pain and lead where he perceives the international vacuum that Klal Yisroel has been facing in the last few days, wherever in the world he lives.
