Just days after LGBTQ+ personality Gal Uchovsky was accused of sexual assault, prominent LGBTQ+ activist Etai Pinkas-Arad has been accused of sexual misconduct by two men who say they had relations with Pinkas-Arad over ten years ago when they were 17, Ynet reported on Wednesday.
The
two, identified as A. and Y. in the report, were both 17 and members of
the Israel Gay Youth (IGY) youth group at the time of the incidents and
met Pinkas-Arad, who was over 30 at the time, at lectures he gave to
the group. The two underwent and passed a polygraph test.
Pinkas-Arad
serves as a Tel Aviv city council member in charge of the issues
concerning the LGBTQ+ community and was at the center of the battle in
the High Court of Justice to make surrogacy for same-sex couples and single fathers legal.
I wonder. Decades ago, the police chief in London Ontario caught the ire of the gay community because he began cracking down on underage sex in that community. Turns out that while Canadian law declared that you had to be 16 years old to consent, the gay community had decided that you only had to be 14 and that they weren't bound by Canadian law. So when the police started busting 20 year olds who were having sex with children, they screamed foul.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way the Torah observant or even traditional community can stem the tide of LGBT etc. It is such a powerful force of toevah. I don't even agree with the open or slightly open orthodox approach.
