L'maaisa, if someone's wife takes him to, say, Beth Din of America to demand a Gett, what options are his best choice in responding with an alternative Beis Din that isn't corrupt or afraid to follow pure halacha?
My list wasn't meant to be all inclusive. I merely mentioned two that came to mind. You can watch the interview with R' Knopfler to get an idea of how he operates. Is this נוגע למעשה, for you, or someone that you know?
I am wondering if you can give even another two names of butei dinim that act as properly in Dinei Torah on Gittin matter as do Rav Gestetner and Rav Knopfler.
I ask since Rav Gestetner's name comes up, inevitably, whenever a husband asks where to go to. But if that venue isn't workable, for whatever reason, it is almost impossible to get any other name of a Beis Din that treats Gittin cases k'hilchoso.
If there were ten butei dinim that treated Gittin like Rav Gestetner, then the modern crowd who insists on changing halacha to match 21st century western mores would effectively be unable to demonize one Beis Din as illegitimate and often get away with it.
This isn't נוגע למעשה at present but could have been in the past and potentially in the future, as I could've/could help direct people in the parsha.
Avi Kahan, if you think that Rabbi Gestetner is spreading falsehoods about you, then you should take the trouble to refute his claims, and let the court of public opinion decide who's right.
What have Kahan and Jacobson claimed? (And who is this Kahan?)

ReplyDeleteAs the defendant, the husband has the right to say that he wants the case to be heard by the Shar Hamishpot Beis Din.
ReplyDeleteIs that the only one in the world worthy of being selected? What if the husband resides outside that Beis Din's area? What others are reliable?
