The Great Hypocrisy of Right-Wingers Claiming ‘Cancel Culture’

 https://www.thenation.com/article/society/republicans-cancel-culture-kaepernick/

Greene and the entire right wing are currently using “cancel culture” in the same way Rudy Giuliani used to deploy “a noun, verb and 9/11”—as a handy-dandy phrase to inoculate themselves from wholly valid criticism. (Rhetorically, “political correctness” is its more direct predecessor, but then Black Twitter invented the term “cancel” and white conservatives decided that, like everything else, they just had to have it.) The current ubiquity of the phrase belies its central thesis, since all the airtime and column space conservatives are given to talk about cancellation proves they were never cancelled in the first place.

  1. So the Left manufacturers and deploys cancel culture with great glee in increasing frequency, including cancelling the entire State of Georgia and when the Republicans fight back, they're hypocrites?
It's kind of like how the Arabs accused the Israelis of being the aggressors in the 1967 war.
This is again distraction propaganda. As the Left goes around cancelling anyone who doesn't share their ideological purity they simultaneously scream that the Right is really the villain here.

  2. Nope! You have very selective vision. This is again the game of "But I am the victim" which is played with great enthusiasm by Trump and the GOP.

  3. Both sides are shouting "I'm the victim" but it's the Left that relishes in the idea of a "victim culture". The Right might be victims right now but they have no interest in maintaining that status and are only playing the card in an attempt to overcome their opponents.

  4. Nonsense! The Right are not more virtuous victims!
