Study finds nearly one-in-five Americans believe QAnon conspiracy theories

Washington, we have a problem — politically, informationally and societally — when 15 percent of Americans agree with the QAnon statement that the U.S. government, media and financial worlds “are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.”

Or when 20 percent agree with this statement: “There is a storm coming soon that will sweep away the elites in power and restore the rightful leaders.”

Or when another 15 percent agree that “Because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.”

  1. Americans are funny that way. At one point 10% believed Elvis was alive.
On the other hand, 99% of Chareidim think your leaders are infallible and that Daas Torah is never wrong. Even though it's literally killing them, Discuss that.

Who is Elvis? That is a good question to ask hareidim to see how effective their sheltering is.

  3. Who's Elvis? Dude, Elvis was the King (is the King according to 10% of Americans)

I know who he was - I was asking a rhetorical question.

  5. And he's still alive. He's down in Alabama running a gas station with Jim Morrison and the Rebbe. The Rebbe handles the cash register but only gives out change in dollar bills.

  6. Again, for the benefit of many Chareidi readers who do not have TVs or listen to secular music, please clarify who some of the lesser known figures are. We know who Ha Melech Elvis is, and who Jim Morrison was, but who is the "Rebbe"? Is it a rock band?

  7. Oh come on.
You know, I've heard the whole "And I didn't have a TV and I don't have internet so I don't know anything about this shtus" but you say "You remember that time that Kirk and Spock did..." and they say "Oh yeah, takke I do."
But fine: Elvis Presley was the King of Rock and Roll. He died of complications of inflammatory bowel disease and a rough rock n roll lifestyle in the mid 70's but, like a certain Chasidic sect, many of his followers refused to believe he was dead and instead feel he's in hiding, waiting for the right time to make his big comeback. Jim Morrison was a singer for The Doors, a late 60's psychedelic rock band known for pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable with sex and drug use. He died of a drug overdose but again, since his funeral was closed-casket, many fans believe that he staged his funeral in order to escape the life of fame he no longer wants and disappeared into obscurity.
So you seen the obvious connection with Lubavitch?

I know that Spock stole the hand sign from the Kohanim, or that that's their mesorah from Vulcan.
In Hareidi modern yeshivas, the most you will get is baseball mashalim. But I heard rabbi Rakeffet talk about Fawlty towers.
    V ha meivin yavin.
