My theory. God tells Job to fight the wicked, as in “Scatter wide your raging anger; See every proud man כל גאה and bring him low והשפילהו: See every proud man and humble him הכניעהו, and abase them והדך רשעים תחתם. Bury them all in the earth טמנם בעפר יחד; Hide their faces in obscurity פניהם חבש בטמון. Then even I would thank you וגם אני אודך For the triumph your right hand won you כי תושע לך ימינך.” (Job 40:11-14).
Beautiful. God wants us to fight the wicked. Yes God did punish the ten wicked spies “those men who spread such calumnies about the land מוצאי דבת הארץ רעה died of by the plague before the Lord.” (Numbers 14:37). God punished the whole generation for not standing up and fighting against the ten wicked spies. God punishes us for not fighting the wicked. Beautiful. In the midrash Job did fight the wicked.
Baba Bathra 15a
“ Raba said that Job was in the time of the spies. [The proof is that] it is written here [in connection with Job], “ There was a man in the land of Uz, named Job. That man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.” (Job 1:1). And it is written elsewhere [in connection with the spies], “and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land.’—Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.—” (Numbers 13:20) Where is the parallel? In one place it is Uz, in the other EZ? What Moses said to Israel was this: [See] if that man is there whose years are as the years of a tree and who shelters his generation like a tree.”
In the midrash Job sheltered his generation by fighting the wicked. Rashi cites “Now the Egyptians are men, and not God, And their horses flesh, and not spirit; So when the Lord shall stretch out His hand, Both he that helpeth shall stumble, and he that is helped shall fall, And they all shall perish together.” (Isaiah 31:3) speedily in our times.
“Judges to report false accusations in divorce cases to police” This is already in NYS law, as I state in SCOTUS 20-8096 paragraph #4 (my whole 20-8096 is on public view): “New York Domestic Relations Law Sec. 253 Removal of Barriers to Remarriage 1. This section applies only to a marriage solemnized in this state or in any other jurisdiction by a person specified in subdivision one of section eleven of this chapter....8. Any person who knowingly submits a false sworn statement under this section shall be guilty of making an apparently sworn false statement in the first degree and shall be punished in accordance with section 210.40 of the penal law.”
ReplyDeleteHere in Israel the question is will judges accept Netanyahu’s evidence that Netanyahu’s main witness against him is a liar and belongs in jail? Yes it’s a crime to file false charges. It’s a crime for judges to take bribes. Hard to prove. Hard to prove false charges with a he/says she/says and no evidence. Do I have a chance to get my pension freed in 20-8096? KA, IsraelReader, ProudConservativeMom, Garnel, MoeGinsburg, DT, Joeorlow?

My Theory.
All leaders were opinion leaders, active in promoting their views like Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley speaks and people would listen. When the wicked spies got promoted to leader status, wow, they had the megaphone like Silicon Valley and people listened. Joshua was always in the tent of Moses. Silicon Valley never reached Joshua. What will happen when Joshua goes out from the tent of Moses to explore the Land of Israel? Oh no, Silicon Valley will reach Joshua. My theory. R. Judah b. Bathyra is more compelling than R. Akiba in Sanhedrin 109b:

Surely every place in America will require photo id and limit drop boxes and prohibit food to voters waiting in line. Who will win the elections then?
