Donald Trump's election threat is actually worse than it appears

 https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/24/politics/donald-trump-election-peaceful-transition/index.html

Here's his full quote (bolding is mine):

"Well, we're going to have to see what happens. You know that. I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots. And the ballots are a disaster. ... We want to have -- get rid of the ballots and you'll have a very trans- -- we'll have a very peaceful -- there won't be a transfer, frankly; there'll be a continuation. The ballots are out of control. You know it."

  1. You know what'll really cause chaos? A Trump victory.
Let's say Trump wins. Once again he gets enough voters out in the right places to win the Electoral College vote. Let's just say that happens.
His opponents and those afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome will be unable to handle the concept. They'll be convinced something went wrong. Ballots were destroyed. Voting machines were sabotaged. People were denied their chance to vote. The mail was tampered with. Something, anything! All the stuff you're predicting that Trump will do if he loses (and I'm not saying he won't) will be dwarfed by the same people who are shouting about how Trump is trying to steal the election. The same-styled defenders of democracy will destroy democracy because it didn't produce the result they wanted!

  3. I can't find a kaf zchut for this gaff by Trump. At least dictator Erdogan demanded a 2nd vote for Istanbul, but accepted the result. What is Trump saying other than dictatorship?

  4. No, I point out the upcoming irony. After all, don't forget that the Soviets started out by wanted to free people from the tyranny of the czar and look how that ended up.

  5. The tyranny of the Czar ended in March. Soviets didn't take over till November. Plus a few years to consolidate their rule.
