White House press secretary pushes back on calls for Trump to address nation amid riots, protests

The White House and Justice Department have pointed the finger at radical leftist group Antifa amid the riots, while local officials have blamed a range of other factors ranging from gangs to white supremacists to foreign influence. But some of these accounts have been challenged, and the sheer scope of the nationwide protests along with arrest data suggests that at least some of the violence is being driven by local residents taking advantage of the chaos.

“Democratic and Republican presidents alike have seen it as their responsibility to be a unifying force in our country, not to fuel the flame,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tweeted Sunday. “President Trump has made clear he would rather distract than perform his duty.”

  1. I think Trump knows that no matter what he says, the liberal media will selectively quote him out of context. Poor guy. He makes a statement, he's condemned. He doesn't make a statement, he's condemned. No wonder he prefers to go off and play golf, and get condemned for doing that too.

  2. nebach he has no clue why his performance is so bad.

of course pointing this out is a serious rebellion against the king because we are supposed to accept his view that everything he does is perfect!
instead of automatic support of Trump a more nuance approach would be helpful he could acknowledge that he does make serious mistakes

  3. Are you even reading my comments? There are plenty of times I've been critical of Trump. However, sometimes he does something right and when he does, you still don't give him credit.

  4. the reason I said you were naive yiou said once Trump mentioned he had asked FBi TO Investigate THERE was no need to repeat himself that is very naive to calm frightened people. or any other emotional message repetition is needed. Rabbi Freifeld one mentioned to me a cartoon he saw in the New Yorker magazine. a guy is stiytting at a bar saying my wife claims I never tell her that I love her. that is a lie I told her when we got married that I loved her
