WHO: Coronavirus likely of bat origin, no sign of lab manipulation
World Health
Organization says COVID-19 originated in the winged mammals in China
sometime last year; still unclear how the virus had jumped the species
barrier but it's unlikely to have emanated from a lab in Wuhan
Really?
ReplyDeleteLet's crunch the numbers
0 concrete proof it came from animals that were unrelated to lab
0 concrete proof it came from animals related to research at Wuhan lab
However, it is seems reasonable it came from animals, possibly via wet market in Wuhan because people come into contact with wild animals at those types of markets.
It also seems reasonable the first infection was related to the lab. Dr. Fauci pushed for research on bats at that lab (over objections of other scientists) that would specifically enhance a coronovirus so that it could infect humans. And the original outbreak centered in Wuhan.
"In 2019, the NIAID provided backing for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to commit $3.7 million over six years to the WIV for research including some studies into gain-of-function."

I find it amusing that when the intelligence agencies warned that the novel coronavirus could lead to a world pandemic and President Trump dilly-dallied and dawdled and misdirected, the liberals love them. But when the same agencies say the virus may have originated in a Chinese lab and the President and his cabinet secretary cogently make the case that they were misled by the U.N. who were in cahoots with the Chinese government, the liberals lob accusations of politicized conclusions.
So funny! This why we love Mr. Trump.

ReplyDeleteGain of function is virus engineering, an extremely dangerous area. Dr Ebright shlita has opposed such meddling with viruses, and he suspects that it leaked from WIV. if the Newsweek article is true, then fauci must be arrested for war crimes.
ReplyDeleteIf!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but why does anyone believe what the WHO says when it comes to China? When China decides the time is right, it will instruct the WHO to announce there's no evidence that the virus even came from there, just that China had the first big outbreak and the WHO will announce that there is no evidence that the virus originated in China and that it's unclear where it really did come from.
ReplyDeleteEveryone talks about how the world will be changed by this virus but it won't be. Politics will still trump truth, decency and the need to help one another.
It says "In 2019, the NIAID provided backing for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to commit $3.7 million over six years to the WIV for research including some studies into gain-of-function. This money came after another $3.7 million, 5-year project for studying various bat coronaviruses. That project concluded in 2019. "
ReplyDeleteThe USA has funded engineering viruses in Wuhan institute for virology, China. So they collected bat virus, made it more dangerous, and lo and behold, this new virus spreads in Wuhan, 20X as deadly due to the gain in function.
This is a nightmare. USA under Trump and fauci are involved.
