Twitter refuses to delete Trump’s baseless claims about Joe Scarborough

Twitter’s policy carve-out for world leaders is facing another test with President Donald Trump’s latest tweets resurrecting baseless claims that MSNBC host Joe Scarborough should be investigated for the death of his former staffer.
Earlier this month, Trump tweeted questions about when an investigation would be opened into the “Cold Case” of “Psycho Joe Scarborough.” The unfounded accusation refers to the death in 2001 of Lori Klausutis, who was working for Scarborough when he was a Republican congressman for Florida. At the time, the medical examiner concluded Klausutis, 28, had fainted due to an undiagnosed heart condition and hit her head on the way down, finding no evidence of foul play. Scarborough was in Washington, D.C., when Klausutis died in his district office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Trump’s tweets revived a baseless theory that Scarborough was allegedly involved in Klausutis’ death. On Thursday, her widower, Timothy Klausutis, wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey requesting the company delete Trump’s tweets referencing those claims.

  1. Because Trump is Boss and they ultimately have a fiduciary responsible to their stockholders which is more important to them than any political correct garbage.

  2. he is the boss?! of what? the garbage dump
yes so if they are stockholders of a company producing poison gas or bioweapons there is a important obligation to make the product!
that is the only consideration in the world of trump and his loyalists

  3. Has it ever been any different in America over the past 400 years? When was this utopian age of government and business when everyone acted with pure, selfless motives?

And if there had been such a time when the Constitution was written, the men who emerged victorious from the Revolutionary War would not have set up a democracy which pits groups against each other. They would have instead just relied on how good natured everyone was acting and set up something far more benign than courts and police.

Why were the Founding Fathers concerned that maybe one day a demagogue would game the system and take the reins of power?

Because they knew very well that democratic institutions are easily corruptible and that there are men who will find the opening to get a foothold on power through the cracks inhererent in the social contract.

Trump is not a madman. But he knows how to act like one in order to bend people to his will. I must say, it is thoroughly satisfying! I am constantly picking up tips and tricks, not that I'll ever have a whit of power, mind you.

  4. being a rotten human being is something you want to use as a role model? the highest level is to offend the most number of people?!
He is not a madman but he he is despicable. Why you should celebrate this is beyond my understanding

  6. Torah thought on Feast of Weeks. The special haftorah we read for שבועות ends with: “Then a spirit carried me away, and behind me I heard a great roaring sound: Blessed is the Presence of the Lord, in His place.” (Ezekiel 3:12).
The Hertz Chumash p. 1031 cite the Malbim who states that His place ממקומו signifies “Jerusalem which continues to be the abode of the Divine Glory.”

A strong source for the Malbim is the famous midrash that God gave the name Jerusalem so as not to offend either King Melchizedek of Salem or Abraham:

Midrash Rabbah - Genesis LVI:10 “And Abraham called ויקרא the name שם of that place Adonai-yireh , whence the present saying אשר יאמר היום, On the mount of the Lord there is vision יראה.”(Genesis 22:14). Shem called it Salem [Shalem]: “And
King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was a priest of God Most High” (Genesis 14:18). Said the Holy One, blessed be He: If I call it Jireh as did Abraham, then Shem, a righteous man, will resent it; while if I call it Salem as did Shem, Abraham, the righteous man, will resent it. Hence I will call it Jerusalem, including both names, Jireh Salem [Jerusalem]. R. Berekiah said in R. Helbo's name: While it was yet Salem the Holy One, blessed be He, made Himself a tabernacle and prayed in it, as it says, “Salem became His abode; Zion, His den.” (Psalms 76:3).”

The Zohar describes angels in heaven looking for God’s place:
Soncino Zohar, Bereshith, Section 1, Page 103a
“R. Judah here began a discourse with the verse: “Her husband is prominent in the gates, As he sits among the elders of the land” (Proverbs 31:23). He said: The Holy One, blessed be He, is transcendent in His glory, He is hidden and removed far beyond all ken; there is no one in the world, nor has there ever been one, whom His wisdom and essence do not elude, since He is recondite and hidden and beyond all ken, so that neither the supernal nor the lower beings are able to commune with Him until they utter the words “Blessed is the glory כבוד of the Lord, in His place ממקומו.” (Ezekiel 3:10-12) The creatures of the earth think of Him as being on high, declaring, “The Lord is exalted above all nations; His glory כבודו is above the heavens.” (Psalms 113:4). While the heavenly beings think of Him as being below, declaring “Exalt Yourself over the heavens, O God, let Your glory כבודך be over all the earth!” (Psalms 57:12). Until they both, in heaven and on earth, concur in declaring, Blessed is the glory כבוד of the Lord, in His place ממקומו. because He is unknowable and no one can truly understand Him.”
The Malbim is so beautiful: “Although the [Divine] glory departed from the Holy Temple, and [Divine] blessing and abundance will not go down from Jerusalem, for from there [Jerusalem] God commanded [Divine] blessings until now, yet even so, it [Jerusalem] is the source of the [Divine] blessing, in its place במקומו which is there [Jerusalem].”

Would you agree that if we didn't reject Esav, then we would not have had an Amalek?

“A recent Wall Street Journal opinion piece by Kimberley-Strassel was depressingly reminiscent of events currently taking place in Israel—at least in principle if not in detail. The overall theme of article was the (ab)use of the nation’s law enforcement bodies for political ends. Thus, Strassel cites the words of Attorney General William Barr, writing “…there have been increasing attempts to use the criminal-justice system as a political weapon.””
Allow me to show here my letter today to the NYS Court of Appeals:
“1.I request permission to submit these papers concerning my motion return date 6/1/2020. I'm attaching an affidavit of service proving I mailed by UPS a true copy to Susan and to TIAA. I received no recent mail and no recent email from the Court, from Susan, or from TIAA. I spoke yesterday with a staff from your department. She confirmed to me that May 11, 2020 was your last letter to me. She read the letter on the phone to me, as I requested. She confirmed that my motion return date 6/1/2020 is in process. I see that you don't return to sender my many mailings to you. Allow me this present letter. My aim is to free my pension that began in 1993 100% then reduced to 45% early 1994 with Susan getting the balance 55%. Time is on my side as more time passes my case of judicial overreach becomes more and more compelling.

2.Judicial overreach: After a get there cannot be a judicial ruling for a separation action on the basis of abandonment. Indeed, after a get there cannot be a contested civil divorce over the objection of the husband. The Court must clarify to married Jewish women in NYS to Orthodox husbands the full meaning of receiving the get from their husbands. The result will lead to fewer divorces and more children and less court divorce cases; surely, salutary goals.
3.Judicial overreach: After so very many years there cannot be a judicial ruling that I still owe child support. The Court must clarify ERISA laws.”
