Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who served on National
Security Council, and Gordon Sondland, Trump’s ambassador to the EU,
both fired two days after president’s acquittal by Senate
Loyalty is a worthwhile trait. Hard to run a country if your underlings are running around chipping at you. President Trump's complete acquittal is proof that nitpicking just ends up wasting time and money.
Sometimes the rules have to be bent. The men who started the American Revolution justified breaking the law with the logic that sometimesyou just got to do it.
I am not making this up. It on the Wikipedia "Ethics" page under tge "Defining Ethics" section (emphasis added):
============ Ethics can also be used to describe a particular person's own idiosyncratic principles or habits.[13] For example: "Joe has strange ethics." ============ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethics
so you are agreeing trump is unethical in the commonly accepted meaning but since he is consistent with his own strange ethics you would claim he is an ethical person - like "there is honor among thieves or the mafia has its own ethics which are strictly observed by members therefore they are ethical people
what a weird defense of Trump similar to Dershowitz claiming that since trump views his reelection to be in the national interest - no activity can be illegal for him to get reelected
the BM is not existent today, Har ha bayit is militarily in Israeli hands, and Trump wants to make it de jure in they intergoy (international) law. So you rebelling against Trump plan?
Well, seriously, yes, I agree with that, and I think a healthy percentage of Trump's other supporters do also.
I am now involved with a group called Extinction Rebellion. It is mostly young people, but they let anybody in. They have this "World Is Coming To An End" attitude. Naturally they call themselves non-violent, but then they justify everytjing they do with the excuse that it's a case of Pikuach Nefesh.
They are active in just about all Western democracies. They are planning to shut down Washington DC in the Spring. They actually call their "action" #ShutDownDC. Maybe technically it's non-violent, but it's still really nasty.
We live in a wild world where moral relativism reigns, thanks to our liberal colleges. Everybody call themselves ethical. I don't find too many claiming to be evil in order to advance their agenda. This Extinction Rebellion is really a religion for some who never had one.
Interestingly, the impeachment unfolded right after President Trump made his U.N. speech pushing the LGBT+ agenda. So I don't claim that Donald Trumps ethics are good from a Torah perspective; but he does manage to capture the ethos of enough of America that he retains his hold on power.
My point: different groups in America have different ethics, and neither side is interested in talking to each other and finding common ground. We are headed to what we might call a Civil Religious War. The next election will be the battlefield.
I think Bernie's getting the Democratic nomination, and Bernie can beat Trump. The stock market will boomerang as money flees before Bernie gets his hands on it. The world economy will be in shambles, and society plunged into darkness.
Purge the riffraff.
ReplyDeletemeaning loyalty to trump is your highest moral value?!!

ReplyDeleteIt was in Jewish hands.
ReplyDeleteThen Moshe Dayan ran to Har haBayit to give the waqf the keys, while soldiers were still fighting all around Yerushalayim.
That's why we're still fighting, years later.
