The Trump Administration’s Many Vacancies Could Complicate its Coronavirus Response

But many top positions across the government that could play a role in coordinating the government’s efforts to prepare for coronavirus remain empty. Birx’s appointment was necessary in part because Trump had eliminated a National Security Council office dedicated to managing pandemics in May 2018. Other key roles at the State Department, the United States Agency for International Development, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Health and Human Services are being carried out by temporary, unconfirmed officials.

  1. If only HIV had been pursued like the Dems want coronovirus treated: quarantines, travel bans, etc.

Think how many lives would have been saved. So let's stop bashing the President on this. If the Dems had set up protocols to deal with AIDS early on, we'd have everything set up for what is needed now.

  3. If, say, a contagion started in a country with people of color who identify as Muslim, the Dems if they had the White House would ban travelers from that country -- but possibly only after wringing their hands over how racist it is to do so.

So, yes, Trump spared us all the theatrics. Trump is perfect in that his being in the White House prevented Dems from being there.
