Trump calls himself a 'stable genius' at wild press conference

  1. That was a great press conference. For those of us who take our civic duty seriously and have aligned ourselves unthinkingly with the President, this was great theater, great politics, great statesmanship.

For everyone else, you may take Speaker Pelosi's side. But be cognizant that you gainsay the Leader of the Free World.

  2. Torah thought on בחקתי
“I will lay your cities in ruin and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not savor your pleasing odors.” (Leviticus 26:31). The consequences of disobedience. God will not hear our petitions. Not until we keep “You shall keep My sabbaths and venerate My sanctuary, Mine, the Lord’s.” (Leviticus 26:2 and 19:30).
    Megilah 28a
“Mishnah. R. Judah said further: If a synagogue has fallen into ruins, it is not right to deliver funeral orations therein nor to wind ropes nor to spread nets nor to lay out produce on the roof [to dry] nor to use it as a short cut, as it says, “I will lay your cities in ruin and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not savor your pleasing odors.” (Leviticus 26:31) [which implies that] their holiness remains even when they are desolate. If grass comes up in them, it should not be plucked, so as to excite compassion.”
So, if a synagogue falls into ruins, Rabbi Judah says it’s not right to make use of the space as a short cut, or for making ropes, or for holding eulogies or for laying out produce and such. Rabbi Judah cites Leviticus 26:31. The holiness remains.
What if the Land of Israel falls into ruins? The holiness remains.
