Jews are being persecuted as disease carriers amid the outbreak of measles, a New York haredi Orthodox rabbi said at a symposium with leaders of the anti-vaccination movement attended by hundreds of haredim.
“We Hasidim have been chosen as the target,” said Rabbi Hillel Handler, a Holocaust survivor from Monsey, a Rockland County town with a large haredi population, according to The New York Times“The campaign against us has been successful.”

  1. One of the foundations of Chareidi ideology is the "they're all out to get us" principle. Do the goyim want to bring useful secular subjects into our schools? Must be because they want to destroy the Torah. Do they want us to vaccinate out kids? Must be because they want to kill us.

Also, how can those who studied forbidden subjects know more than those who only learn in yeshiva? That makes hareidim very angry indeed.

I try not to hate anyone unless they are rodefim.
I have studies secular sciences and spent several years at Universities. I know many people whose parnassah is through what they studied, so people of that sector of the hareidi world are destroying people's lives, families, with their self righteous denialism. Nobody , for example, today ploughs a field with oxen. they use tractors. So the issur applying to kilayim of animals cannot really apply to a tractor - its wheels, engine, etc are not living beings. Similarly, not everyone can make a living with a farm. Even if you learn about diamonds, why is that any different from learning about other chemicals and minerals?

  6. Well that's another principle of theirs - since Torah contains everything, folks who really know their Torah know more than those who studied - pheh! - secular subjects.
(Folks who actually know their Torah know that they don't)

The Chazon Ish, and rav Moshe, 2 of the greatest Hareid poskim, had to consult actual scientific data, or specialists, in order to make a good psak.

    From ynet

"This sect of bastards (who preach against vaccinations) can have a field day in such communities, since the ultra-Orthodox are far less exposed to the media," says Breier.
