FOX NEWS' CHRIS WALLACE CHALLENGES LINDSEY GRAHAM ON HIS 1998 CLAIM THAT IGNORING SUBPOENAS IS IMPEACHABLE

Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday forced Senator Lindsey Graham to watch a 1998 clip of himself talking about the dangers of ignoring subpoenas from Congress during an era when he was leading the impeachment effort against former President Bill Clinton.
During Graham’s appearance on Fox News Sunday earlier today, Wallace challenged the Republican senator on his past comments about impeachment, which appears to contradict his current stance on calls by Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump.
"You call all of what’s going on in Washington a political circus, but you took a different view back when you were leading the impeachment effort against Clinton back in the late '90s. At that time, you said that any president, and you talked specifically about Clinton and Richard Nixon, who defied Congress when it came to subpoenas was in danger of impeachment,” Wallace said, before airing an old clip of Graham’s comments made in Capitol Hill.
“You’re becoming the judge and jury. It is not your job to tell us what we need. It is your job to comply with the things we need to provide oversight over you,” Graham can be seen saying in the December 18, 1998 clip. At the time, he was a member of the House of Representatives and one of the managers — de facto prosecutors — in Clinton's impeachment trial before the Senate.

  1. Life in this country just keeps getting better.

Confession: I didn't review the clip.

Confession: I can't wait till the Democrats begin the impeachment proceedings.

There is such a push for impeachment there is basically no stopping it at this point. It's like a runaway train. We just have to wait for it to crash on its own accord.

And what a mashup smashup it will be. Every Democrat in Congress will be salivating and foaming for a bit of the limelight.

And here is the best part: the Dems will claw and bite each other to death as they scramble to include every last accusation in the imprachment charges.

By Presidents Nixon and Clinton, the alleged crimes were pretty much agreed on by the it accusers.

But we have to ask ourselves: if President Trump sought to derail the justice process, precisely when did it occur? And the answer is: there is no one instance that can be pointed to. At best, it is a lot of little things here and there, none of which were illegal but which as a whole might paint a picture of blocking the justice process.

Fine. So, to impeach the President all those little things will have to be included. The problem is, in politics in the U.S., it's best not to be ambiguous. And the proceedings will be full of ambiguity, because, as noted, no one thing the President did was illegal. In fact, although he didn't, the President had the legal right to fire the Special Counsel! He certainly had the right to fire the Attorney General, which he did do.

So, where is the "smoking gun"? There isn't any, although there is plenty of smoke.

    Let the festivities begin....
