Deputy minister accused of protecting sex offenders in at least 10 cases

Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman allegedly helped at least 10 serious sex offenders obtain improved conditions, including home visits and other benefits, by pressuring state psychiatrists and prisons service officials, according to a report Tuesday.
Litzman, who hails from the Gur Hasidic community, has been accused in the past of using his influence to protect Malka Leifer, who has been fighting extradition to Australia for allegedly abusing students at a Jewish school there.
According to Channel 13 news, Litzman is suspected of a pattern of pressuring corrections officials to be lenient with other ultra-Orthodox offenders as well.

“I brought them out of the land of Egypt and I led them into the wilderness. I gave them My laws and taught them My rules, by the pursuit of which a man shall live. Moreover, I gave them My sabbaths to serve as a sign between Me and them, that they might know that it is I the Lord who sanctify them.” (Ezekiel 20:10-12).
“for they had rejected My rules, disobeyed My laws, and desecrated My sabbaths; their hearts followed after their fetishes. But I had pity on them and did not destroy them; I did not make an end of them in the wilderness. I warned their children in the wilderness: Do not follow the practices of your fathers, do not keep their ways, and do not defile yourselves with their fetishes. I the Lord am your God: Follow My laws and be careful to observe My rules. And hallow My sabbaths, that they may be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I the Lord am your God. But the children rebelled against Me: they did not follow My laws and did not faithfully observe My rules, by the pursuit of which man shall live; they profaned My sabbaths. Then I resolved to pour out My fury upon them, to vent all My anger upon them, in the wilderness.” (Ezekiel 20:16-21).

I’m a follower of the Gur Hassidim, especially Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman. His leniencies are like the leniencies of the School of Hillel---eminently reasonable,. What to do when there are doubts on the veracity of the charges against sex offenders? In the USA they say innocent until proven guilty, follow, KA? I’m waiting to see if SCOTUS will assign me new number to replace 18-7160.

In any case, your example is regarding the kashrus of meat, ie an object. That's not in any way relevant to the serious abuse crimes that litzman is bending the law for. He would not care less if the suspects were chilonim, or goyim. Just closing ranks to protect his own kind.

  5. No. If SCOTUS gives me a new number to replace 18-7160, that will mean that SCOTUS had little doubts on the veracity of my side.

  6. No. He-says-she-says stuff in court, with no real proofs, if Litman knows nothing about the parties, he doesn’t get involved. What can he do?

How so? Change of number, change of mazal?

  8. No. A new number has a new petition, new request for poor person relief, new proof of service, and new exhibits, in public view and one day SCOTUS will say yes or no to the new number, follow , KA?.

  9. The Culprit!

More than 4.5 million children are forced to endure sexual misconduct by school employees, from inappropriate comments to physical abuse, The report for Congress by Charol Shakeshaft, a professor at Hofstra University’s School of Education.

“Most people just don’t think this can really happen,” said Shakeshaft, hired by the Education Department to study the prevalence of sexual abuse in schools. “We imagine that all teachers are like most teachers, in that they’ve gone into teaching to help children. Most do, but not all. We need to acknowledge that’s the case and do something to stop it.”

  11. So when it comes to kashrus the meat has to be special mehadrin-min-mehadrin but when it comes to people, hey what's a little corruption?

Kashrus mehadrin etc brings in $$$. Respecting people doesn't. That's why.

“The daughter of Bar Kalba Savua became betrothed to Rabbi Akiva. When Bar Kalba heard about it, pronounced a vow prohibiting her from any of his possessions.” Schottenstien comments here: For as long as she was married to Rabbi Akiva, to pressure her to demand a divorce from him.
Is there any doubt what a wicked man that Bar Kalba Savua was? He probably was a supporter of the evil Roman Empire that occupied Judea and Samaria in Rabbi Akiva’s time.
