prominent-orthodox-rabbi-condemns-vaccines-as-a-hoax

One of the country’s most prominent ultra-Orthodox rabbis has condemned vaccines as a “hoax” in an interview with a local Jewish newspaper.

“I see vaccinations as the problem,” Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetzky told the Baltimore Jewish Times in a story published in late August. “It’s a hoax. Even the Salk [polio] vaccine is a hoax. It’s just big business.”

  1. It's a start. According to the article, Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky declared something a hoax. This indicates to me that he may acknowledge the concept of a hoax.

    We're getting somewhere.

  2. Bravo ! Joseph Orlow says “It's a start. According to the article, Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky declared something a hoax. This indicates to me that he may acknowledge the concept of a hoax. We're getting somewhere.”

    Hoax = .a humorous or malicious deception. "they recognized the plan as a hoax" synonyms: practical joke, joke, jest, prank, trick;
    I read the Forward article and the reference story: “An increase in concerns about the safety of vaccinations was seen after the publication of a 1998 study by Dr. Andrew Wakefield of England in the medical journal “Lancet” that asserted a correlation between the vaccine given to prevent measles, mumps and rubella and digestive inflammation and autism. Initially, some believed that thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative contained in some vaccines, could be a culprit. In response, the U.S. Public Health Service, the American Academy of Pediatrics and vaccine manufacturers decided that all but trace amounts of thimerosal should be eliminated from vaccines. Yet, a 2010 CDC study published in the journal “Pediatrics” concluded that “exposure to ethyl mercury from thimerosal-containing immunizations during pregnancy … or as a young child” was not associated with any autism-spectrum disorders. The same year, Wakefield’s study was discredited and his article was retracted by “Lancet” after journalist Brian Deere uncovered evidence of Wakefield’s medical misconduct, including the use of fraudulent data, unethical treatment of children and undisclosed conflicts of interest. In the aftermath of Deere’s reporting, Wakefield lost his license to practice medicine in the United Kingdom and was dismissed from his position as a gastroenterologist and researcher at the Royal Free Hospital.”

    Does Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky accept the Wakefield study that shows a correlation between the vaccine given to prevent measles, mumps and rubella and digestive inflammation and autism? Is Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky dismissive that journalist Brian Deere uncovered evidence of Wakefield’s medical misconduct, including the use of fraudulent data, unethical treatment of children and undisclosed conflicts of interest? Is Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky aware that the K-G heter uses fraudulent data (the fake/phony PhD psychology letter that he won’t let anyone see etc) unethical treatment of the husband and undisclosed conflicts of interest etc and, clearly, is a joke, an embarrassment, a hoax?
